Antinociceptive Effects of Turkish Endemic Eryngium kotschyi Boiss. Roots by Bioactivity Guided Fractionation

2010

Eryngium species (Apiaceae) are well known plants in ethnobotanical culture throughout world and also in Turkey. They are used as antitussive, diuretic as well as for analgesic and antiinflammatory purposes in traditional medicine. This study aimed to evaluate the antinociceptive activity of endemic Eryngium kotschyi Boiss. root extracts by bioguided fractionation. The antinociceptive activity of the extracts/fractions/compound was studied in mice using acetic acid induced writhing test and and hot plate test. The methanolic extract was sequentially partitioned with hexane, dichloromethane and water saturated n-butanol. Among the fractions, the n-BuOH fraction showed the most significant re…

Tržní hospodářství v katolickém sociálním učení – historický přehled a sociálněetická analýza

2016

Catholic social teaching, beginning in the 19th century, aimed at nurturing and improving Christian morality in the emerging industrialized societies. However, several significant studies demonstrate that changing social structures were also responsible for the ‘social question’ of the time. Consequently bishops, such as Ketteler, fought for social reforms and a new social order. Nevertheless, the idea that free market economy could play a significant role in coordinating economic agents seemed foreign to Catholic social teaching. In this paper, I argue that today Catholic social teaching acknowledges and appreciates market economies, if and insofar as they are regulated and understood in t…

Sequestrati dalla vendetta: “rimanere chiusi fuori dall’oggetto”

2013

Powerful and merciless family ghosts who prevent from building original and autonomous selves. Personalities kneaded with emotional indifference and vindictiveness. Al di là del sintomo. Il gruppo psicodinamico nelle dipendenze

2012

A Financial Perspective on Value Creation

2018

The recent financial crisis, together with the economic bubbles and cycles of explosions have all proved us that creating, evaluating and maintaining value represent not only a competitive advantage, but also a requirement in uncertain situations. And when also the interests are not intercorrelated within the groups, the only way to effectively employ the available resources and to help the economy is by seeking to achieve long lasting value development. The principles used in establishing the value, followed by measurement techniques have stood the test of time. In a world where short-termism still remains a topic open to debates, it is mandatory to be able not to think of creating value f…

Cell therapy medicinal product regulatory framework in Europe and its application for MSC-based therapy development

2012

Advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs), including cell therapy products, form a new class of medicines in the European Union. Since the ATMPs are at the forefront of scientific innovation in medicine, specific regulatory framework has been developed for these medicines and implemented from 2009. The Committee for Advanced Therapies (CAT) has been established at the European Medicines Agency (EMA) for centralized classification, certification and evaluation procedures, and other ATMP-related tasks. Guidance documents, initiatives, and interaction platforms are available to make the new framework more accessible for small- and medium-sized enterprises, academia, hospitals, and foundation…

1999

This essay's contribution consists of new 15th and 16th century documentary witnesses, ateested by scholars, which show readings with ch spelling instead of other spellings representing the voiced palato-alveolar affricate. The author maintains that these cases, although exceptional in contemporary texts, constitute «crevices in the old edifice of written language» and would confirm the hypothesis that apitxament, the voiceless production of the above-mentioned sound, originated in 15th century Valencia, as opposed to those dating this phenomenon well into the modern period.

Professional Competences of Music Therapists Working in Post-stroke Rehabilitation

2012

The aim of this qualitative study is to gain more insight into the skills and knowledge that music therapists feel they need, in order to work successfully with people who have had an acute stroke. For this purpose, six music therapists were interviewed about their own particular specialist education. Another interview topic for them was to recount their subjective experiences of poststroke rehabilitation work in hospitals and health care units during the course of two projects that they participated in. The first was a project that specifically used music listening during acute stroke rehabilitation; and the second was a project, which used more active music therapy techniques, like drummi…
