Information diffusion model with homogeneous continuous time Markov chain on Indonesian Twitter users

2022

In this paper, a homogeneous continuous time Markov chain (CTMC) is used to model information diffusion or dissemination, also to determine influencers on Twitter dynamically. The tweeting process can be modeled with a homogeneous CTMC since the properties of Markov chains are fulfilled. In this case, the tweets that are received by followers only depend on the tweets from the previous followers. Knowledge Discovery in Database (KDD) in Data Mining is used to be research methodology including pre-processing, data mining process using homogeneous CTMC, and post-processing to get the influencers using visualization that predicts the number of affected users. We assume the number of affected u…

Hyperbolic discount curves: a reply to Ainslie

2013

Published version of an article in the journal: Theory and Decision. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/s11238-013-9361-8 Ainslie (Theory and Decision, 73, 3-34, 2012) challenges our interpretation of the properties of hyperbolic discount curves in an iterated prisoners' dilemma (IPD) model. In this reply, we discuss the emergence of hyperbolic discount functions in the behavioral economics literature and evaluate their properties. Furthermore, we present a summarized version of our IPD model and evaluate Ainslie's points of contention.

Porsgrunn kommune "likes" Facebook : en studie om bruk av sosiale medier i kommunal sektor

2012

Masteroppgave i samfunnskommunikasjon- Universitetet i Agder 2012 Facebook has until recently been used by private individuals rather than governmental organizations. Figures from Difi (Agency for Public Management and eGovernment) says that Facebook has 2,5 millions Norwegian members per 01.2012. This study will explore what are the factors that come into play, when Porsgrunn municipality adopt Facebook to improve inhabitants' dialogue, their cooperation and democratic development. Current research shows that the participation of inhabitants, is very important for the municipality if they want to succeed in their use of Facebook. Even more importantly is the municipality´s will to listen, …

Remote service usage through SIP with multimedia access as a use case

2007

The IP Multimedia Subsystem is under deployment, as an IP-based service control and access infrastructure, but how it interconnects with residential appliances is currently unclear. With IMS access for the residential appliances they can be used as both service consumers and service providers. In this paper we present a protocol which allows residential services to be remotely invoked, through the IMS, and consumed in a different network, along with a prototype implementation and early results. With our protocol services of two distinct service protocol systems can cooperate.

Mixed l-/l1 fault detection observer design for positive switched systems with time-varying delay via delta operator approach

2014

Published version of an article in the journal: International Journal of Control, Automation and Systems. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/s12555-013-0466-1 This paper investigates the problem of fault detection observer design for positive switched systems with time-varying delay via delta operator approach. A new fault sensitivity measure, called l-index, is proposed. The l- fault detection observer design and multi-objective l -/l1 fault detection observer design problems are addressed. Based on the average dwell time approach and the piecewise copositive type Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional method in delta domain, sufficient conditions for the existence of …

Wildfire Monitoring Based on Energy Efficient Clustering Approach for FANETS

2022

Forest fires are a significant threat to the ecological system’s stability. Several attempts have been made to detect forest fires using a variety of approaches, including optical fire sensors, and satellite-based technologies, all of which have been unsuccessful. In today’s world, research on flying ad hoc networks (FANETs) is a thriving field and can be used successfully. This paper describes a unique clustering approach that identifies the presence of a fire zone in a forest and transfers all sensed data to a base station as soon as feasible via wireless communication. The fire department takes the required steps to prevent the spread of the fire. It is proposed in this study…

Motion control with optimal nonlinear damping: from theory to experiment

2022

Optimal nonlinear damping control was recently introduced for the second-order SISO systems, showing some advantages over a classical PD feedback controller. This paper summarizes the main theoretical developments and properties of the optimal nonlinear damping controller and demonstrates, for the first time, its practical experimental evaluation. An extended analysis and application to more realistic (than solely the double-integrator) motion systems are also given in the theoretical part of the paper. As comparative linear feedback controller, a PD one is taken, with the single tunable gain and direct compensation of the plant time constant. The second, namely experimental, part of the pa…

Robust adaptive backstepping DP control of ROVs

2022

Dynamic positioning is an important control feature for an underwater remotely operated vehicle. This paper presents a nonlinear dynamic positioning controller suited for application to vehicles with model uncertainties, operating in environments with unpredictable disturbances, such as an aquaculture net cage. The proposed controller combines the backstepping approach with an adaptation term to ensure robustness. Using Lyapunov theory and Matrosov’s theorem the origin of the closed-loop system is proven to be: (i) globally asymptotically stable when assuming persistency of excitation, and (ii) stable and bounded, with the true position converging to the desired position if there is no pers…

2017

Šajā pētījumā autors lēsts auditu piemēroto banku sektorā, un to ietekmi uz nozari un valsts ekonomiku Azerbaidžānas. Pētījums sastāv no trim daļām.
