The article focuses on Finnish proverbs as a part of contemporary colloquial written language in everyday use and context. The article offers a view on what is happening with proverbs in the vernacular in Finnish everyday life. Most traditional Finnish proverbs originate from an agrarian context and still use agrarian language, even if nowadays they live in a new context with a new meaning. Tutkielma käsittelee arjen kielellisiä esittämistapoja mediatekstien kontekstissa. Työn tarkoituksena on perehtyä arjen lingvistiseen kuvaukseen kahdessa eri naistenlehdessä, Kotiliedessä ja Kotivinkissä. Arjen kuvaamisen tapoja eli representaatioita tutkiva työ on toteutettu konstruktionistisen ja diskursiivisen kielikäsityksen kehyksessä. Tutkimuksen aihe on yhteiskunnallisesti ajankohtainen ja liittyy elämäntapavalinnoista käytävään keskusteluun. Representaatioita tutkiva työ keskittyy arjen ajan ja paikan kartoittamiseen. In recent years, the perspective of lived religion has drawn attention toward the everyday religious practices of the laity. In early-modern Europe, the realm of the sacred could be approached in different ways from within the mundane world, and religious practices were tightly intertwined with social life. This paper examines the plurality of ethical consumption and aims to illustrate how consumers cope with its complexity in the context of everyday food consumption. This study seeks to outline the tensions that consumers inevitably face when pursuing ethical choices and to shed light on the various ways in which they solve these tensions in the rhythms of everyday life. The research applies Boltanski and Thévenot's theory of orders of worth as an interpretive framework.
