Maternal feeding practices during the first year and their impact on infants' acceptance of complementary food.
2013
Funding: Regional Council of Burgundy + Regional Council of IFR92 + Regional Council of PRNH-INRA-INSERM + Regional Council of the "ANR The French National Research Agency" under the Programme National de Recherche en Alimentation et nutrition humaine (ANR-06-PNRA-028 ) + Regional Council of Bledina, Nestle, Symrise, Cedus and Valrhona; International audience; The introduction of weaning foods is a major transition in the development of infants' eating behavior. Previous studies showed that greater variety at the beginning of the weaning period can later influence an infant's acceptance of new foods. The aim of the present study was to describe maternal feeding practices in the first year (…

The Performative University: ‘Targets’, ‘Terror’ and ‘Taking Back Freedom’ in Academia
2020
The file attached to this record is the author's final peer reviewed version. The Publisher's final version can be found by following the DOI link. This special issue assembles eight papers which provide insights into the working lives of early career to more senior academics, from several different countries. The first common theme which emerges is around the predominance of ‘targets’, enacting aspects of quantification and the ideal of perfect control and fabrication. The second theme is about the ensuing precarious evocation of ‘terror’ impacting on mental well-being, albeit enacted in diverse ways. Furthermore, several papers highlight a particular type of response, beyond complicity to…
Six Weeks of Confinement: Psychological Effects on a Sample of Children in Early Childhood and Primary Education
2020
Spain has been one of the countries most affected by the health crisis derived from COVID-19. Within this country, the city of Madrid has registered the highest number of infections and deaths. This circumstance led to the adoption of strict confinement measures for a period of 6 weeks. The objective of the present study was to investigate the psychological effects that this confinement has had on the psychological well-being of a sample of children from Madrid. A total of 167 families with children aged between 3 and 11 years participated in this study. The parents evaluated the children through the System of Evaluation of Children and Adolescents (SENA) scale in the month of February and …
Clinical utility of novel biosensing platform: Diagnosis of coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 at point of care
2021
Early detection is the first step in the fight against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Therefore, an efficient, rapid, selective, specific, and inexpensive SARS-CoV-2 diagnostic method is the need of the hour. The reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) technology is massively utilized to detect infection with SARS-CoV-2. However, scientists continue to strive to create enhanced technology while continually developing nanomaterial-enabled biosensing methods that can provide new methodologies, potentially fulfilling the present demand for rapid and early identification of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients. Our review presents a summar…
Why reg. (eu) no. 1103/2016 and 1104/2016 impact on the european citizens daily life?
2021
Why families do need the tools and instruments implemented by PSEFS Project? Why this is not an issue for lawyers, judges and University professors only. The answer to this question is that Reg. (EU) no. 1103/2016 and no. 1104/2016 impact on the European citizens daily life. We follow the problems of a young couple in order to have a better understanding and an evidence of this statement.
3-4 gadīgu bērnu pirmreizēja agrīna diagnosticēšana vispārējā pirmsskolas izglītības iestādē
2017
Autore diplomdarba tēmu „3 - 4 gadīgu bērnu pirmreizēja agrīna diagnosticēšana vispārējā pirmsskolas izglītības iestādē” izvēlējusies, jo strādā Rīgas pirmsskolas izglītības iestādē par skolotāju logopēdi un gan viņa, gan viņas kolēģi darbā sastopas ar gadījumiem, kad bērnam nepieciešamāka agrīnāka diagnosticēšana nekā tas paredzēts pašreiz. Pirmsskolas izglītības iestādē ir viens dokuments – valodas karte, pēc kuras tiek veikta pirmreizēja diagnostika 5 – 7 gadīgiem bērniem no vecākās un sagatavošanas grupas, tādēļ autorei šķita svarīgi izveidot materiālu – darba lapu, pēc kuras varētu veikt pirmreizējo agrīno diagnostiku 3 – 4 gadus veciem bērniem. Darbā no teorētiskā viedokļa ir aplūkota…
Exosome levels in human body fluids: A tumor marker by themselves?
2016
Despite considerable research efforts, the finding of reliable tumor biomarkers remains challenging and unresolved. In recent years a novel diagnostic biomedical tool with high potential has been identified in extracellular nanovesicles or exosomes. They are released by the majority of the cells and contain detailed molecular information on the cell of origin including tumor hallmarks. Exosomes can be isolated from easy accessible body fluids, and most importantly, they can provide several biomarkers, with different levels of specificity. Recent clinical evidence shows that the levels of exosomes released into body fluids may themselves represent a predictive/diagnostic of tumors, discrimin…
