Temporal Logic To Query Semantic Graphs Using The Model Checking Method
2012
International audience; Semantic interoperability problems have found their solutions due to the use of languages and techniques from the Semantic Web. The proliferations of ontologies and meta-information have improved the understanding of information and the relevance of search engine responses. However, the construction of semantic graphs is a source of numerous errors of interpretation or modeling, and scalability remains a major problem. The processing of large semantic graphs is a limit to the use of semantics in current information systems. The work presented in this paper is part of a new research at the border of two areas: the semantic web and the model checking. This line of rese…
Système de prise d'images haute résolution pour l'analyse de projection de particules : application à l'épandage centrifuge d'engrais
2002
This paper describes the design of a high resolution low cost imaging system for the analysis of high speed particle projection. This system, based on a camera and a set of flashes, is used to characterize the centrifugal spreading of fertilizer particles ejected at speeds of environ 30 m s. Multiexposure images collected with the camera installed perpendicular to the output flow of granules are analysed to estimate the trajectories of the fertilizer granules. Very good results are obtained with the Markov random fields method, in comparison with others.
Neutral modelling of agricultural landscapes by tessellation methods: the GenExP-LandSiTes software - Application to the simulation of gene flow
2010
International audience; We present a three steps approach that aimed at simulating neutral agricultural landscape models: (1) we characterized the geometry of three real field patterns; (2) we generated simulated field patterns with two tessellation methods attempting to control the value of some of the observed characteristics and, (3) we evaluated the simulated field patterns. The first two steps were integrated to the GenExP-LandSiTes software that thus simulates two-dimensional agricultural landscapes. It is written in Java, and it is freely accessible through a Gnu Public Licence. For the third step, we considered that good simulated field patterns should capture characteristics of rea…
Left-Ventricle Segmentation of SPECT Images of Rats
2015
Single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) imaging of the heart is helpful to quantify the left-ventricular ejection fraction and study myocardial perfusion scans. However, these evaluations require a 3-D segmentation of the left-ventricular wall on each phase of the cardiac cycle. This paper presents a fast and interactive graph cut method for 3-D segmentation of the left ventricle (LV) of rats in SPECT images. The method is carried out in three steps. First, 3-D sampling of the LV cavity is made in a spherical-cylindrical coordinate system. Then, a graph-cut-based energy minimization procedure provides delineation of the myocardium centerline surface. From there, it is possible to…
Terahertz Biomedical Imaging: From Multivariate Analysis and Detection to Material Parameter Extraction
2017
Terahertz imaging is an interesting route for biomedical analysis. In particular, cancer imaging is a subject of study for different teams [1,2]. A work is done in Bordeaux in partnership with a hospital to do terahertz analysis of breast tissue. This work is done in reflection with time domain imaging setup with fresh samples. The aim is to accurately assess tumor margins and which could in the future allow a quick validation of the precision of the surgical procedure and know if new surgery should be performed. We have presented in a previous paper [3] the use of automatic methods of image generation with different parameters [4] in order to explore the different contrasts that exist in t…
Optimizing Hough transform for fertilizer spreading optical control
2006
International audience; In Europe, centrifugal spreading is a widely used method for agricultural soil fertilization. In this broadcasting method, fertilizer particles fall onto a spinning disk, are accelerated by a vane, and afterward are ejected into the field. To predict and control the spread pattern, a low-cost, embeddable technology adapted to farm implements must be developed. We focus on obtaining the velocity and the direction of fertilizer granules when they begin their flight by means of a simple imaging system. We first show that the outlet angle of the vane is a bounded value and that its measurement provides the outlet velocity of the particle. Consequently, a simple camera un…
Approche multi-critère pour la caractérisation des adventices
2022
The objective of this thesis is to develop a way to detect weeds in a field using multispectral images, in order to determine which weeds should be eliminated during the current crop cycle and more particularly at the early stages. The multi-criteria approach focuses on the spatial arrangement, the spec- tral signature, the morphology and the tex- ture of the plants located in the plots. This work proposes a method for selecting the best criteria for optimal discrimination for a given setup. Prior to the extraction of these crite- ria, a set of methods was developed in order to correct the errors of the acquisition de- vice, to precisely detect the vegetation and then to identify within the…
Close-Range Photogrammetric Tools for Epigraphic Surveys
2016
In this article, we present a method to carry out a computerized epigraphic survey of historic stones and their engraved epigraphy. In fact, the preservation of archaeological objects has always been an issue of concern for the research community. On the one hand, the fragility of the objects limits their study. On the other hand, such objects are housed in museums, libraries, and institutions worldwide, locations that significantly limit their accessibility. Different survey methods have been carried out in these attempts to overcome the aforementioned limitations. Among them, the MicMac open source software was used in this work to survey and process the dense correlation of the hieroglyp…
Developing a framework for designing humanitarian blockchain projects
2021
International audience; Blockchain technology promises to improve the efficiency, transparency, and accountability of humanitarian operations. Yet at the same time, especially the humanitarian context with its characteristic volatility poses unique challenges to any technology. Most prominent are the humanitarian principles that are fundamental to humanitarian operations. These ethical principles are set to protect the most vulnerable populations. Designing blockchain projects in the humanitarian context therefore requires a systematic framework that helps humanitarians make critical choices. While some design instructions can be found for commercial applications, the humanitarian context re…
