HIT–harjoittelua (korkeatehoista intervalliharjoittelua) on käytetty kilpaurheilussa jo pitkään suorituskyvyn ja erityisesti maksimaalisen hapenottokyvyn parantamiseksi. Nykyään harjoitusmenetelmää käyttävät myös tavalliset kuntoilijat, sillä HIT-harjoitukset ovat tehokkaita ja nopeita toteuttaa. HIT-harjoittelua on viime aikoina alettu käyttää myös voimaharjoittelussa kehonpainoa tai erilaisia painoja hyödyntäen. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää kahden erilaisen HIT-kuormitusmallin (HIT 1: 4*4 min 85%/2 min ja HIT 2: 10*1 min 95%/1½min) vaikutuksia hapenottokykyyn, voimaan ja kehon koostumukseen. Unequal poverty and equal industrialisation: Finnish wealth, 1750–1900

We present the first comprehensive, long-run estimates of Finnish wealth and its distribution from 1750 to 1900. Using wealth data from 17,279 probate inventories, we show that Finland was very unequal between 1750 and 1850; the top decile owned about 90% of total wealth. This means that Finland was more unequal than the much wealthier economies Britain, France and the US, which goes against the common assumption of richer economies being more unequal. Moreover, when industrialisation took off in Finland, inequality started a downward trajectory. Hindrances to recognition in Finnish music schools

This article examines recognition relations between students and teachers in Finnish music schools. The research is based on written texts by music school students. The texts are analysed for difficulties in recognition relations, namely, hindrances to recognition in music schools. In the texts, some of the respondents describe situations that can be analysed as hindrances to recognition. The author analyses four different types of recognition-related problems in the data, the main issue being a tension between caring for people (respecting them) and promoting musical values (emphasising esteem).
