Tutkimukseni kohteena ovat Euroopan sosiaalirahaston ohjelmakaudella 2000-2006 toimineiden ja Keski-Suomen ympäristökeskuksen koordinoimien YTYtyöllistämisprojektien työnjohtajien eli työnsuunnittelijoiden haastattelut. Tavoitteenani on tutkia diskurssianalyysin avulla millaisia merkityksiä työnsuunnittelijat liittävät puheessaan työttömyyteen ja ympäristötöihin, ja miten he tekevät niitä ymmärrettäviksi tietyssä kontekstissa. Tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan yksilötason sijaan haastateltujen puheessa jäsentyviä merkityskokonaisuuksia ja niiden rakentamaa sosiaalista todellisuutta. Radical sex role ideology and the Finnish gender role movement in the late 1960s

An active discussion of gender roles and the need to renegotiate them took place in the late 1960s in Finland. While previous studies have associated this ‘sex role debate’ with the independent civic organisation Association 9, this article focuses on the wider gender role movement. The article analyses the interplay and differences among the Finnish Women’s Democratic League, the Committee for Women’s Status, and Association 9’s grassroots activism between 1965 and 1970. Changes in Young Europeans’ Values During the Global Financial Crisis

We investigate the impact of the global financial crisis (GFC) on the personal values of youth and young adults (age 16–35 years) from 16 European countries. Using time series cross-sectional data from seven waves (2002–2014) of the European Social Survey, we examined (1) whether the GFC led to value shifts between cohorts of young people and (2) whether welfare state provision moderate the expected value shifts. Multilevel analyses showed that, following the GFC, the importance of security, tradition, benevolence, and, to a lesser extent, conformity values increased. Abstract Background: For the laboratory diagnosis of the antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) we developed a biosensor with the ability to distinguish between disease-relevant anti-β2-glycoprotein I (β2GPI) autoantibodies (anti-β2GPI) and pathogen-specific β2GPI cross-reactive antibodies that occur transiently during infections. Methods: We used a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensor device. For the detection of anti-β2GPI in serum samples, affinity-purified human β2GPI was covalently attached to a functionalized n-alkanethiol self-assembling monolayer on the biosensor chip.
