Stability of 11-Nor-Δ9-carboxy-tetrahydrocannabinol Glucuronide in Plasma and Urine Assessed by Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry

2002

Abstract Background: Unconjugated 11-nor-Δ9-carboxy-tetrahydrocannabinol (THCCOOH) in blood and urine has been proposed as a valuable marker, but the glucuronide (THCCOOglu) is present in considerably higher concentrations than the parent drug. Acyl glucuronides have been shown to be potentially reactive conjugates, which may affect the in vitro metabolite pattern. Methods: Extraction procedures and a liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry assay were developed and validated to investigate the stability of THCCOOglu in urine and plasma. Plasma and urine samples with added THCCOOglu were stored at −20, 4, 20, and 40 °C up to 10 days. Results: The glucuronide was stable at −20 °C in bo…

Depth profiling of Pu, 241Am and 137Cs in soils from southern Belarus measured by ICP-MS and alpha- and gamma-spectrometry

2003

The depth distribution of plutonium, americium, and Cs-137 originating front the 1986 accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) was investigated in several soil profiles in the vicinity from Belarus. The vertical migration of transuranic elements in soils typical of the 30 km relocation area around Chernobyl NPP was studied using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), alpha spectrometry, and gamma spectrometry. Transuranic concentrations in upper soil layers ranged from 6 x 10(-12) g g(-1) to 6 x 10(-10) g g(-1) for plutonium and from 1.8 x 10(-13) g g(-1) to 1.6 x 10(-11) g g(-1) for americium. These concentrations correspond to specific activities of Pu239+240 of…

Effect of nanoaquacitrates on physiological parameters of Fodder Galega infected with phytoplasma

2018

The laboratory experiments have been found that so aking seeds Galega orientalis L. (Fodder galega) in nanoaquacitrates solutions of Mn (10 and 20 mg/dm 3), Mo (4 mg/dm3) and Mg (2 and 4 mg/dm3), has been lead to germination energy rise, while Mn( 10 and 20 mg/dm3) and Mo (4 mg/dm3) concentrations has been influenced germinating ability. At the same time, the soaking seeds in solution of nanoaquacitrates Mn (20 mg/dm3) had the biggest stimulatory effect on the accumulation 7 daily sprouts mass (on 18%). It has been shown that s oaking seeds in nanoparticles Mn and Mo solutions leads to the increase of catalase activities (especially under the influence of manganese) and peroxidase activitie…

Prevention of Dominant IgG Adsorption on Nanocarriers in IgG‐Enriched Blood Plasma by Clusterin Precoating

2019

Abstract Nanocarriers for medical applications must work reliably within organisms, independent of the individual differences in the blood proteome. Variation in the blood proteome, such as immunoglobulin levels, is a result of environmental, nutrition, and constitution conditions. This variation, however, should not influence the behavior of nanocarriers in biological media. The composition of the protein corona is investigated to understand the influence varying immunoglobulin levels in the blood plasma have on the interactions with nanocarriers. Specifically, the composition of the nanocarriers' coronas is analyzed after incubation in plasma with normal or elevated immunoglobulin G (IgG)…

Temperature dependence of η / s of strongly interacting matter: Effects of the equation of state and the parametric form of ( η / s ) ( T )

2020

We investigate the temperature dependence of the shear viscosity to entropy density ratio η/s using a piecewise linear parametrization. To determine the optimal values of the parameters and the associated uncertainties, we perform a global Bayesian model-to-data comparison on Au+Au collisions at √sNN=200 GeV and Pb+Pb collisions at 2.76 TeV and 5.02 TeV, using a 2+1D hydrodynamical model with the Eskola-Kajantie-Ruuskanen-Tuominen (EKRT) initial state. We provide three new parametrizations of the equation of state (EoS) based on contemporary lattice results and hadron resonance gas, and use them and the widely used s95p parametrization to explore the uncertainty in the analysis due to the c…

Atmospheric pressure non-equilibriumplasma for the production of composite materials

2014

In the evolving field of tissue engineering, continuous advances are required to improve scaffold design and fabrication to obtain biomimetic supports for cell adhesion, proliferation, penetration and differentiation. Both electrospun fibrous scaffolds and hydrogels are used in this field since they well reproduce the structure of the extracellular matrix (ECM) of many biological tissues. Limitations of these two types of materials can be overcome through their combination, by developing composite structures combining enhanced mechanical properties (provided by the fibrous components) and improved cell penetration (provided by the gel phase) in a superior ability to mimic natural ECM that i…

Von Willebrand-Syndrom - Blutungsrisiko bei HNO-Eingriffen im Kindesalter

1994

Von Willebrand's disease (vWD) is the most common inherited bleeding disorder. Typical clinical features such as bleeding after surgery or trauma might suggest the disease. We present a series of 24 patients with vWD treated between 1989 and 1992. Diagnosis was confirmed by a reduction in plasma factor VIII antigen concentration, reduction of ristocetin cofactor activity and reduced factor VIII activity. Seventeen of the patients underwent surgery (7 adenoidectomies, 8 tonsillectomies, 2 paranasal sinus operations) and received preoperative stimulation of von Willebrand factor (vWF) using DDAVP. This resulted in a rapid increase in plasma vWF concentration from an average of 56% before stim…

Effect of Mycoplasma agalactiae mastitis on milk production and composition in Valle dell Belice dairy sheep

2019

Contagious agalactia (CA), a disease caused by Mycoplasma agalactiae and other pathogenic mycoplasmas, is a well-known multietiological syndrome affecting dairy breeds of sheep and goats in the Mediterranean basin. The aim of this work was to study the effect on milk production and composition of mastitis caused by M. agalactiae in Valle del Belice dairy sheep. All ewes were manually milked twice daily and the milk from both daily milking was analysed for milk composition and somatic cell counts. Moreover the morning milk samples were collected aseptically from each animal for bacteriological analyses. A mixed linear model was utilised to consider milk production and composition between ani…

Measurements of inclusive jet spectra in pp and central Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV

2020

This article reports measurements of the pT-differential inclusive jet cross section in pp collisions at √s = 5.02 TeV and the pT-differential inclusive jet yield in Pb-Pb 0-10% central collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV. Jets were reconstructed at midrapidity with the ALICE tracking detectors and electromagnetic calorimeter using the anti-kT algorithm. For pp collisions, we report jet cross sections for jet resolution parameters R=0.1-0.6 over the range 20<pT,jet<140 GeV/c, as well as the jet cross-section ratios of different R and comparisons to two next-to-leading-order (NLO)-based theoretical predictions. For Pb-Pb collisions, we report the R=0.2 and R=0.4 jet spectra for 40<pT,jet<140 GeV/c…
