In an experimental nuclear physics off-line systems are often used in situations where acceleration energies are relatively small. Main benefits are low price and meager radiated laboratory enviroments. In this master’s thesis I discuss mostly about automation which was used in our off-line system. The system was built at the Ion Guide Separator On-Line facility (IGISOL) in Jyväskylä University. The automation set up was made with the Phoenix Contacts inline terminals, which were programmed by using the Labview program. Striated muscle-specific serine/threonine-protein kinase beta (SPEGβ) segregates with high- versus low-responsiveness to endurance exercise training

Bidirectional selection for either high or low responsiveness to endurance running has created divergent rat phenotypes of high-response trainers (HRT) and low-response trainers (LRT). We conducted proteome profiling of HRT and LRT gastrocnemius of 10 female rats (body weight 279 ± 35 g; n = 5 LRT and n = 5 HRT) from generation 8 of selection. Differential analysis of soluble proteins from gastrocnemius was conducted by label-free quantitation. Genetic association studies were conducted in 384 Russian international-level athletes (age 23.8 ± 3.4 yr; 202 men and 182 women) stratified to endurance or power disciplines. Android lietotņu drošības aspekti

Darbā pētīta mobilo telefonu pašlaik populārākā operētājsistēma Android un tās lietotņu drošības aspekti. Autors darbā aprakstījis Android lietotņu drošības aspektus – mehānismu lietotnes ietekmes ierobežošanai, lietojot pieejas tiesības. Autors izveidojis lietotni „PermissionTestApp”, kurai tiek piešķirtas visas 152 uz darba izstrādes brīdi Android pieejamās atļaujas. Lietotne tika izstrādāta, izmantojot „Android Studio” un jaunāko Javas versiju, kas bija pieejama uz darba izstrādes brīdi Java 7 Update 80. Autora izstrādātā lietotne „PermissionTestApp” pieņemta publicēšanai Google Play veikalā un ir pieejama bezmaksas lejupielādei Android ierīcēm ar versiju 5.0. un augstāk.

Odd-odd neutron-rich rhodium isotopes studied with the double Penning trap JYFLTRAP

Precision mass measurements of neutron-rich rhodium isotopes have been performed at the JYFLTRAP Penning trap mass spectrometer at the Ion Guide Isotope Separator On-Line (IGISOL) facility. We report results on ground- and isomeric-state masses in $^{110,112,114,116,118}$Rh and the very first mass measurement of $^{120}$Rh. The isomeric states were separated and measured for the first time using the phase-imaging ion-cyclotron-resonance (PI-ICR) technique. For $^{112}$Rh, we also report new half-lives for both the ground state and the isomer. The results are compared to theoretical predictions using the BSkG1 mass model and discussed in terms of triaxial deformation.

High-precision electron-capture Q value measurement of 111In for electron-neutrino mass determination

A precise determination of the ground state $^{111}$In ($9/2^+$) electron capture to ground state of $^{111}$Cd ($1/2^+$) $Q$ value has been performed utilizing the double Penning trap mass spectrometer, JYFLTRAP. A value of 857.63(17) keV was obtained, which is nearly a factor of 20 more precise than the value extracted from the Atomic Mass Evaluation 2020 (AME2020). The high-precision electron-capture $Q$ value measurement along with the nuclear energy level data of 866.60(6) keV, 864.8(3) keV, 855.6(10) keV, and 853.94(7) keV for $^{111}$Cd was used to determine whether the four states are energetically allowed for a potential ultra-low $Q$-value $\beta^{}$ decay or electron-capture deca…

Study of radial motion phase advance during motion excitations in a Penning trap and accuracy of JYFLTRAP mass spectrometer

Phase-imaging ion-cyclotron-resonance technique has been implemented at the Penning-trap mass spectrometer JYFLTRAP and is routinely employed for mass measurements of stable and short-lived nuclides produced at IGISOL facility. Systematic uncertainties that impose limitations on the accuracy of measurements are discussed. It was found out that the phase evolution of the radial motion of ions in a Penning trap during the application of radio-frequency fields leads to a systematic cyclotron frequency shift when more than one ion species is present in the trap during the cyclotron frequency measurement. High-precision mass measurements of 25Al and 30P at JYFLTRAP

The masses of the astrophysically relevant nuclei 25Al and 30P have been measured with a Penning trap for the first time. The mass-excess values for 25Al ( $\Delta = -8915.962(63)$ keV) and 30P ( $\Delta = -20200.854(64)$ keV) obtained with the JYFLTRAP double Penning trap mass spectrometer are in good agreement with the Atomic Mass Evaluation 2012 values but $ \approx$ 5-10 times more precise. A high precision is required for calculating resonant proton-capture rates of astrophysically important reactions 25Al (p, $ \gamma$ )26Si and 30P(p, $ \gamma$ )31S . Development of High Resolution Resonance Ionization Mass Spectrometry for Neutron Dosimetry Technique with93Nb(n,n')93mNb Reaction

We have proposed an advanced technique to measure the 93mNb yield precisely by Resonance Ionization Mass Spectrometry, instead of conventional characteristic X-ray spectroscopy. 93mNb-selective resonance ionization is achievable by distinguishing the hyperfine splitting of the atomic energy levels between 93Nb and 93mNb at high resolution. In advance of 93mNb detection, we could successfully demonstrate high resolution resonant ionization spectroscopy of stable 93Nb using an all solid-state, narrowband and tunable Ti:Sapphire laser system operated at 1 kHz repetition rate. peerReviewed
