This paper regards the emergence of forms of life in the field of food and dietary choices. It aims at connecting meat-free diets with the notion of form of life, especially focussing on the moment of “conversion” from an omnivourous diet to vegetarianism or veganism. OWL is becoming the most widely used knowledge representation language. It has several textual notations but no standard graphical notation apart from verbose ODM UML. We propose an extension to UML class diagrams (heavyweight extension) that allows a compact OWL visualization. The compactness is achieved through the native power of UML class diagrams extended with optional Manchester encoding for class expressions thus largely eliminating the need for explicit anonymous class visualization. Solar irradiance is an extreme case of an uncertain variable when measured on an hourly, or shorter time interval. In this paper solar irradiance has been considered as a case study for physical fuzzy modelling of a climate variable. The uncertainty of the solar irradiance is treated as a fuzzy uncertainty whilst other variables are considered crisp. The approach is robust as it does not rely on statistical assumptions, and it is a possible alternative to modelling complex systems. Recent studies have proposed the use of experiments to guide software development in order to build features that the user really wants. Some authors argue that this approach represents a new way to develop software that is different from the traditional requirement-driven one. In this position paper, we propose the discipline of Hypotheses Engineering in comparison to Requirements Engineering, highlighting the importance of proper handling hypotheses that guide experiments. We derive a set of practices within this discipline and present how the literature has tackled them up to now. Recent legal changes in Spain have led to an important increase in the number of men court-mandated to community-based partner violence offender intervention programmes. However, just a few of those interventions have been systematically examined. This study aims to predict success indicators of an intervention programme for convicted intimate-partner violence offenders. The sample consisted of 212 convicted intimate-partner violence offenders who participated in the Contexto Programme.
