Remnants of Anderson localization in prethermalization induced by white noise

2017

We study the non-equilibrium evolution of a one-dimensional quantum Ising chain with spatially disordered, time-dependent, transverse fields characterised by white noise correlation dynamics. We establish pre-thermalization in this model, showing that the quench dynamics of the on-site transverse magnetisation first approaches a metastable state unaffected by noise fluctuations, and then relaxes exponentially fast towards an infinite temperature state as a result of the noise. We also consider energy transport in the model, starting from an inhomogeneous state with two domain walls which separate regions characterised by spins with opposite transverse magnetization. Exotic SiO(2)H(2) Isomers: Theory and Experiment Working in Harmony.

Replacing carbon with silicon can result in dramatic and unanticipated changes in isomeric stability, as the well-studied CO2H2 and the essentially unknown SiO2H2 systems illustrate. Guided by coupled-cluster calculations, three SiO2H2 isomers have been detected and spectroscopically characterized in a molecular beam discharge source using rotational spectroscopy. The cis,trans conformer of dihydroxysilylene HOSiOH, the ground-state isomer, and the high-energy, metastable dioxasilirane c-H2SiO2 are abundantly produced in a dilute SiH4/O2 electrical discharge, enabling precise structural determinations of both by a combination of isotopic measurements and calculated vibrational corrections. …

An investigation of photo- and pressure-induced effects in a pair of isostructural two-dimensional spin-crossover framework materials

International audience; Two new isostructural iron(II) spin-crossover (SCO) framework (SCOF) materials of the type [Fe(dpms)2 (NCX)2 ] (dpms=4,4'-dipyridylmethyl sulfide; X=S (SCOF-6(S)), X=Se (SCOF-6(Se))) have been synthesized. The 2D framework materials consist of undulating and interpenetrated rhomboid (4,4) nets. SCOF-6(S) displays an incomplete SCO transition with only approximately 30 % conversion of high-spin (HS) to low-spin iron(II) sites over the temperature range 300-4 K (T1/2 =75 K). A hybrid magnet with coexistence of ferromagnetism and photoinduced Fe(iii) spin-crossover

International audience; The insertion of a [Fe(sal2-trien)]+ complex cation into a 2D oxalate network results in a hybrid magnet with coexistence of magnetic ordering and photoinduced spin-crossover (LIESST effect) in compound [FeIII(sal2-trien)][MnIICrIII(ox)3]*(CH2Cl2) (1). A complete photomagnetic characterization together with a detailed structural analysis of the low-spin (LS) and high-spin (HS) structures of 1 is presented in order to understand such unusual behavior. Abstract Low-pressure silica polymorphs, e.g. quartz (Qtz), tridymite (Trd), and cristobalite (Crs), are common in silicic magmas, but the conditions of their formation are still unclear. Abstract Extensive drillings and 31 new C-14 datings were used to establish the geomorphological evolution of the Turia river delta and coastal barrier-lagoon system of Valencia (Spain) over the last three millennia. Integration of geomorphological, stratigraphic, malacological, sedimentological and geoarchaeological data enables us to relate river Turia avulsions and alluvial episodes to the development of coastal spits and barriers. Middle Triassic sharks from the Catalan Coastal ranges (NE Spain) and faunal colonization patterns during the westward transgression of Tethys

Abstract Palaeogeographic changes that occurred during the Middle Triassic in the westernmost Tethyan domain were governed by a westward marine transgression of the Tethys Ocean. The transgression flooded wide areas of the eastern part of Iberia, forming new epicontinental shallow-marine environments, which were subsequently colonized by diverse faunas, including chondrichthyans.
