Tutkielmani tarkoitus on käsitellä valintoja, joita kirjoittaja joutuu tekemään henkilöhahmoja laatiessaan. Aluksi käsittelen henkilöhahmoja eri genrejen näkökulmasta. Sen jälkeen käsittelen kirjallisuustieteen teorioita apuna käyttäen romaanin henkilöhahmojen rakentumista sekä sitä, missä määrin on mahdollista puhua henkilöhahmon identiteetistä. Lopuksi tarkastelen henkilöhahmojen rakentamisessa tehtäviä valintoja käyttäen apuna omaa romaanikäsikirjoitustani sekä muiden kirjoittajien kokemuksia henkilöhahmojen luomisesta. The article employs the theme of a literary walk (Watson 2009), a practice of encountering places with literary associations on foot. Urban areas present especially suitable settings for such themed walks, as cities can have multiple literary connections, and literary places are located within a short distance from one another. In this paper, I focus on the sites associated with Tove Jansson (1914– 2001), a Finnish-Swedish artist and writer, internationally known for her books about the Moomins.  Jatkosota 1941–1944 vei suomalaiset sotilaat kauaksi itään – alueille, jotka monin tavoin erosivat kotiseudun totutusta ympäristöstä. Artikkeli käsittelee sotilaiden kokemuksia maisemasta, sitä mitä ajatuksia ja tunteita se heissä herätti ja kuinka he arjen käytännöissään ottivat vieraan maiseman haltuunsa ja muunsivat sen ”omaksi”.

The purpose of this research was to study skill learning and the meaning of the art and skill subjects in Finnish comprehensive school. During the last decade, there have been many discussions in the media about the position of the art and skill subjects in our school system and the curriculum. The beginning, the idea, of this study can be located in 2003, when we educators were in the middle of designing the new curriculum for the year 2004. Technological thinking is not a discrete form of thinking. Whether we talk about the use or the development of technology, technological thinking intersects with logic, creativity and many other human qualities. The bare definition of technological thinking is an ambiguous task, not to speak of the wide variety of attempts to promote it in education. In this paper, we do not aim at saying the final word about the appropriate means of promoting technological thinking.
