Global analysis of the pMSSM in light of the Fermi GeV excess: prospects for the LHC Run-II and astroparticle experiments

We present a new global fit of the 19-dimensional phenomenological Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (pMSSM-19) that comply with all the latest experimental results from dark matter indirect, direct and accelerator dark matter searches. We show that the model provides a satisfactory explanation of the excess of gamma-rays from the Galactic centre observed by the Fermi~Large Area Telescope, assuming that it is produced by the annihilation of neutralinos in the Milky Way halo. We identify two regions that pass all the constraints: the first corresponds to neutralinos with a mass ~80-100 GeV annihilating into WW with a branching ratio of 95% ; the second to heavier neutralinos, with mass ~…

It has been shown that singlet Cooper pairs can be converted into triplet ones and diffuse into a ferromagnet over a long distance in a phenomenon known as the long-range proximity effect (LRPE). This happens in materials with inhomogeneous magnetism or spin-orbit coupling (SOC). Most of the previous studies focus on the cases with small SOC and exchange field. However, the physics was not clear when SOC and exchange field strength are both much greater than the disorder strength. We analyzed surface-wave propagation that takes place at the boundary between a semi-infinite dielectric and a multilayered metamaterial, the latter with indefinite permittivity and cut normally to the layers. Known hyperbolization of the dispersion curve is discussed within distinct spectral regimes, including the role of the surrounding material. Hybridization of surface waves enable tighter confinement near the interface in comparison with pure-TM surface-plasmon polaritons. A DISSECTION'S GUIDE TO HUMAN ABDOMINAL CAVITY

The purpose of this article is to show the abdominal cavity's dissection method. In the summer of 2018 a group of students from the University of Palermo, who had already taken the anatomy exam and had good knowledege of English, went for a period of two weeks to do a dissection course at the University of malta. The students dissected skin, subcutaneously, muscle layers, parietal peritoneum and abdominal organs. this works proves to be a small dissection guide for young medical students who want to learn the main bases of dissection and important information for topographical anatomy.

The aim of this Article is to show methods for dissection of the lower limb. In the summer 2017 a group of students at the University of Palermo that have already passed the exam of Human Anatomy took a 4 weeks dissection course at the University of Malta - School of Medicine. The students were provided with a dissection kit, video recording equipment and cameras for taking pictures. This paper presents the results of the dissection course and a small and simple guide to young students and medical doctors who want to learn the bases of lower limb dissection.
Rotational collisional line broadening at high temperatures in the N2 fundamental Q-branch studied with stimulated Raman spectroscopy

Self broadened N 2 Q-branch spectra are measured by high resolution stimulated Raman spectroscopy in the pressure region 0.25-1.9 atm. and in the temperature range 295-1310 K. Non additivity of the Q(J) components due to line overlap arising in the highest pressure range explored is carefully taken into account. Excellent fit of the whole spectra is thus obtained for each pressure with linearly density-dependent line widths. Semi-classical calculations of the line-broadening coefficients lead to consistent values with all the measured ones. The effects of collisional relaxation processes on the Q-branch profile of major species present in combustions have been studied by high resolution stimulated Raman spectroscopy. Particular interest has focused on the following collisional systems: N2-N2, O2-O2, CO2-CO2, O2-N2, N2-CO2 and N2-H2O. For each colliding pair, starting from accurate determinations of line broadening coefficients over a wide temperature range, state-to-state rates for rotational energy transfers have been deduced by using various fitting laws.
