This article explores the ways in which ‘gangsta’ English features are deployed, evaluated and adopted in two types of social media, the web forum and Twitter, within the domains of hip hop culture and football (soccer) culture, from the dual perspective of authenticity and normativity. The aim of this article is to bring philosophical thinking closer to practice-based empirical work. Using Martin Heidegger’s philosophy, it offers a bridge between these two worlds, attempting to provide philosophical depth to the findings of a hermeneutic phenomenological study. Das Lernen des Deutschen in der Schule hat nicht nur in ganz Finnland, sondern auch in der Stadt Jyväskylä drastisch abgenommen. Um dieser Tendenz entgegenzuwirken, wurde Anfang 2010 in Jyväskylä ein nationales Pilotprojekt initiiert, das vom finnischen Zentralamt für Unterrichtswesen finanziert wurde. Experiencing Authenticity at Alvar Aalto’s Experimental House

Experiences of authenticity are studied at Alvar Aalto’s Experimental House – today a modern house museum – which has gone through renovations and changes. Visitors were interviewed to find out how they feel about the authenticity of the place, if the changes affect their experience of authenticity, and if they share the same opinions. A review of the literature on the concept of authenticity is carried out and its implications for museum contexts is considered, and then the research questions are answered by analysing 30 interviews of visitors to the Experimental House.
