The present guidelines are aimed at residents and board-certified physicians in the fields of dermatology, pediatrics, pediatric dermatology and pediatric rheumatology as well as policymakers and insurance funds. They were developed by dermatologists and pediatric dermatologists in collaboration with pediatric rheumatologists using a formal consensus process (S2k). The guidelines highlight topics such as disease severity, quality of life, treatment goals as well as problems associated with off-label drug therapy in children. Abstract Background Noroviruses are one of the principal biological agents associated with the consumption of contaminated food. The objective of this study was to analyse the size and epidemiological characteristics of foodborne outbreaks of gastroenteritis in Catalonia, a region in the northeast of Spain. Methods In all reported outbreaks of gastroenteritis associated with food consumption, faecal samples of persons affected were analysed for bacteria and viruses and selectively for parasites. The aim of this study was to report on the anatomical and functional results of surgical management of seven cases of endophthalmitis related to a single day of intravitreal aflibercept injections. Patients with signs of endophthalmitis who underwent aflibercept injections (seven eyes) performed on the same day were retrospectively evaluated. The data of visual acuity and optical coherence tomography (OCT) within nine months of the follow-up and the treatment and results of microbiological cultures are reported. Although there is a wide range of therapeutic applications, the coexistence of severe side effects and contraindications outlines the necessity of new therapeutic options in the treatment of severe RA. CASE HISTORY: While being treated with corticosteroids and methotrexate for rheumatoid arthritis, a 63-year-old man developed livid nodules on his lower arms, hands and feet, as well as fever, necrotizing skin ulcers and rupture of a finger extensor tendon. INVESTIGATIONS: No vasculitis was found in a biopsy of one of the nodules on the lower arm. Fast growing mycobacteria, classified as M. marinum by PCR, were cultured from wound swabs. TREATMENT AND COURSE: The lesions healed on administration of ciprofloxacin, ethambutol and clarithromycin as well as local treatment.
