Purpose: To evaluate the correlation between automated achromatic perimetry (AAP) and the output of two retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) analysers: scanning laser polarimetry (GDx-VCC) and optical coherence tomography (OCT). Methods: Quantitative RNFL measurements with GDx-VCC and Stratus-OCT were obtained in one eye from 52 healthy subjects, 38 ocular hypertensive (OHT) patients and 94 glaucomatous patients. All patients underwent a complete examination, including AAP using the Swedish interactive threshold algorithm (SITA). Momentum distributions of cosmic relics: Improved analysis

We solve coupled momentum-dependent Boltzmann equations for the phase space distribution of cosmic relic particles, without resorting to approximations of assuming kinetic equilibrium or neglecting backscattering or elastic interactions. Our method is amendable to precision numerical computations. To test it, we consider two benchmark models where the momentum dependence of dark matter distribution function is potentially important: a real singlet scalar extension near the Higgs resonance and a sterile neutrino dark matter model with a singlet scalar mediator. Dark matter and baryogenesis in Higgs portal models

This work focuses on two of the main issues in current understanding of particle physics described by the Standard Model. The Standard Model, despite of its success, is not complete. Existence of dark matter has been clearly verified, but its nature is unknown. Also, the baryon asymmetry in the Universe hints that the Standard Model has to be extended. In this thesis we study Higgs portal models which both contain dark matter candidates, and can provide for a successful production of the baryon asymmetry.

A través de la promoción artística femenina del período tardogótico se pretende reflexionar sobre los medios empleados por las mujeres de finales del siglo XV para ejercer libremente su deseo de promocionar obras de arte y, por otra parte, los principales objetivos que pudieron subrayar y destacar con estos encargos artísticos. Desde la actualidad resulta importante recapacitar sobre la metodología más adecuada para este tipo de estudios a la luz de la documentación primitiva y las estructuras sociales, culturales y económicas de la época medieval.

Si evidenziano gli esiti degli apporti internazionali, dovuti alla presenza di artisti stranieri, e delle istanze dell'arte della Controriforma. Abstract: This article describes 10 year old children`s play in nature during school hours. However, my result does equally reflect on children in kindergarden as well. Observation and conversation was used as methods as well as pictures. The children’s play in the trees and building huts was conducted in groups, and their communication was nonverbal with each other and with the nature. However; the girls reveal that they enjoy their conversations while being in the tree. The children often play at the same place over and over. Józef Warszewicz (1812–1864) was one of the first Polish naturalists to explore the flora of the tropical New World. During two expeditions to Central and South America (1844–1850 and 1850–1853) he collected and delivered to Europe up to twenty thousand plant specimens. To honour his service and his achievements in plant collections, different taxonomists described more than 100 taxa using the surname Warszewicz, for example in the genus name (Warszewiczia) and the species epithets (warszewiczii, warscewiczii, warszewicziana).
