2015
Lohenstein’s (1635-1683) posthumous novel Groβmüthiger Feldherr Arminius published in 1689-1690 is the last text this Silesian author worked on in his final years. Having published numerous tragedies based mainly on classical subject – Cleopatra (1660), Agrippina (1665), and Sophonisbe (1680) – Lohenstein concentrated this time on the writings of Tacitus and Velleius Paterculus, resulting in his own personal view of the character Armenius (Hermann) and the confrontation between the Latin and Germanic worlds.

2019
2008
Like most baroque novels, Hinze-Kunze Roman can be read on several levels. First it can be seen as a war of the sexes. On a second level, it can also be read as a Bildungsroman, comparable to all the Aufbauromane written in the fifties. But, on a third level one can also consider Braun's novel as an allegory of East Germany, where each character stands for a specific feature of East German society: Hinze represents the people, Kunze power... And yet another reading also allows one to understand the novel as a narrator-writer's attempt to write a well-executed socialist novel. Finally, one can try to read Hinze-Kunze-Roman as a literary work made up of inter-textual references, or as the jux…

Sacred atmospheres. A baroque church in a market as a case study
2020
Palazzo Valguarnera a Palermo
2021
Between about 1750 and 1765, during the Borbon government, a favorable political circumstance determined, in the Island’s capitol, an evident develop of construction activity linked to the aristocratic class. In that period, by means of substantial restructuring and in some cases new construction, the most monumental and artistically meaningful noble palaces of Palermo’s historical center were built, involving significant economic resources and the main architects and artists. The news projects, beyond the different choices, followed two main criteria: -the scenic exaltation of the sequence portal-atrium-courtyard-staircase arranged along the same axis; -the extension of the salons enfilade…
