Purpose To compare whole-body MRI (WB-MRI) with diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI), FDG-PET/CT, and bone marrow biopsy (BMB), for the evaluation of bone marrow involvement (BMI) in patients with newly diagnosed lymphoma. The main goal of preoperative chemotherapy is to reduce the size of the tumor and allow conservative treatment. Neoadjuvant treatment can affect axillary status with a downstaging in one third of the cases. For these patients, the benefit of axillary node dissection is questioned and the sentinel node biopsy (SLNB) seems to be a relevant option. However, the timing of performing SLNB is still debated especially for clinical negative patients with negative axillary ultrasound before preoperative chemotherapy. For axillary positive nodes proved by biopsy/cytology before preoperative chemotherapy, SLNB can be an option if there is a good clinical and radiological response.

Subclinical infections of the prostate can increase the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) values in patients with normal digital rectal examination. This study aimed to evaluate the role of short-term antimicrobial therapy in reducing the PSA value in patients as candidates for transrectal biopsy. Fifty-eight patients with negative digital rectal examination and PSA values between 4 and 20 ng/mL were included in the study. Antibiotics were administered to all patients for 3 weeks, and the PSA was reassessed 10 days after the end of the treatment. Patients were subsequently submitted to prostate biopsy. Drug-induced hepatitis: a rare complication of oral anticoagulants.

Hepatotoxicity is a rare complication of coumarin anticoagulants. We present the case of a 56-year-old woman who developed a viral-hepatitis-like picture 8 months after mitral valve replacement and oral anticoagulation. Phenprocoumon-induced hepatitis was diagnosed after positive reexposure and improvement following withdrawal of the drug. There appeared to be cross-reactivity to warfarin since this drug led to a similar increase in alkaline phosphatase and gamma-glutamyl transferase after a few days of administration.
