Radial cracks around α-quartz inclusions in almandine: Constraints on the metamorphic history of the Oman mountains

Radiating tensional cracks around α-quartz inclusions in almandine have been observed in metapelite samples from the southeastern Saih Hatat tectonic window, northeastern Oman Mountains. These almandines show an inclusion-rich (glaucophane + epidote) and strongly deformed core with inclusions of different mineral phases. The rim of the same almandines is inclusion-poor and shows only quartz, apatite, zircon, rutile and BaAl phosphates as inclusions. Quartz and apatite inclusions in the rim are single crystals often surrounded by radial cracks. A review of facial injuries due to dog bites

Bite injuries to the head and neck region can result in facial disfigurement with distressing physical and psychological consequences. This article reviewed the causes and management of facial bite wounds due to dog bites. A PUBMED search of the National Library of Medicine from 1995 to December 2005 was conducted. Keywords used in the search were ?facial wound?, ?bite wound?, ?dog bite?. The results showed that the risk factors for dog attacks include: school-aged children, male, households with dogs, male dogs and certain breeds (german shepherds, bull terriers, blue/red heelers, dobermans and rottwellers). Eiropā un īpaši Latvijā bišu pētniecībā trūkst uzziņu par bišu sastopamību, izplatību un to spēju pielāgoties pieaugošai antropogēnajai ietekmei biotopos. Bišu daudzveidību dabā vienlaicīgi ietekmē daudzi ārēji faktori un to mijiedarbība ar bišu fenotipiem. Bakalaura darbā pētīta bišu daudzveidība divās dažādi apsaimniekotās lauksaimniecības teritorijās Saldus novadā 2021. gada vasarā. Paraugu ievākšanā tika izmantota ūdens lamatu metode. Flexible, chelating bis(NHC) ligand 2, able to accommodate both cis- and trans-coordination modes, was used to synthesize (2)Ni(η 2 -cod), 3. In reaction with GeCl2, this produced (2)NiGeCl2, 4, featuring a T-shaped Ni(0) and a pyramidal Ge center. Complex 4 could also be prepared from [(2)GeCl]Cl, 5, and Ni(cod)2, in a reaction that formally involved Ni-Ge transmetalation, followed by coordination of the extruded GeCl2 moiety to Ni.
