Il contributo propone un approfondimento sul tema del libro d'artista attraverso l'esame di ACINQUE, un archivio di libri d'artista fondato nel 2018 da Giuseppe Mendolia Calella grazie a una open call rivolta a creativi attivi in diversi settori. ACINQUE costituisce un caso studio particolarmente interessante in seno al fenomeno del libro d'artista e vanta la partecipazione di autori di alto profilo; queste le ragioni del successo dell'iniziativa ancora in progress.

Face tracking and recognition: from algorithm to implementation

This paper describes a system capable of realizing a face detection and tracking in video sequences. In developing this system, we have used a RBF neural network to locate and categorize faces of different dimensions. The face tracker can be applied to a video communication system which allows the users to move freely in front of the camera while communicating. The system works at several stages. At first, we extract useful parameters by a low-pass filtering to compress data and we compose our codebook vectors. Then, the RBF neural network realizes a face detection and tracking on a specific board.

Se discuten algunas de las conclusiones de varios trabajos históricos recientes sobre Amedeo Avogadro y la teoría atómica del siglo XIX. A través de pequeños extractos de publicaciones famosas de Avogadro, se analizan las características principales de sus aportaciones a la teoría atómica del siglo XIX. También se analizan los principales métodos de cálculo de pesos atómicos de esos años y se discute el papel de las ideas de Avogadro en este tema. Estas conclusiones se contrastan con la imagen que actualmente los libros de texto dan acerca de este autor.
