The documents regarding the Valencian priest Andreu Garcia († November 1452) show a quite interesting character. Garcia’s family belonged to local oligarchy. Moreover, he had a substantial income related with the Cathedral. He had contact, too, with Carthusians, Observant Friars and probably with Beghards (the books of his library suggest this last idea). Garcia took part, as an intermediary or as a sponsor, in many artistic orders that involved the best workers and the best customers of the city. A heterocyclic oxime from a fungus with anti-juvenile hormone activity

Two fractions obtained after chromatography of dichloromethane extract of Penicillium brevicompactum culture medium showed anti-juvenile hormone activity. One was active when assayed in vivo against Oncopeltus fasciatus third-instar nymphs, whereas the other showed a strong in vitro inhibition of JH III biosynthesis on Locusta migratoria corpora allata. A subfraction of the latter, constituting 97% of this fraction, is a main component that possessed the juvenile hormone biosynthesis inhibitory activity. Evolution of fermenting microbiota in tarhana produced under controlled technological conditions

PubMedID: 21839387 The purpose of this study was to evaluate the evolution of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) and yeasts during the fermentation of tarhana produced with some pasteurised ingredients and carried out at 30 and 40 °C. The chemical parameters were those typical for tarhana production. Coliform bacteria were not detected during fermentation, while LAB and yeasts were in the range 10 7-10 8 colony forming units (CFU) g -1. This study aimed to investigate the effect of supplementation with the probiotic Bifidobacterium breve M-16V on the maturation of the intestinal and circulating immune system during suckling. In order to achieve this purpose, neonatal Lewis rats were supplemented with the probiotic strain from the 6th to the 18th day of life. Materials and Method: A retrospective review of patients with malignant scalp tumors diagnosed histopathologically between 2005 and 2021 was performed. Political risks: the “red shift” in debt sustainability analysis

Political stability and economic policy uncertainty can be key determinants of sovereign debt dynamics, and we show how they can be incorporated in debt sustainability analysis. We distinguish between short-term ambiguity and long-term uncertainty about political risk factors, and using a combination of narrative scenarios and calibrated probabilistic scenarios we obtain a comprehensive heatmap of high-risk debt dynamics. We use Italy as an interesting case study and demonstrate a “red shift” in the assessment of vulnerabilities when accounting for political risks. Ignoring these risks can lead to excessive optimism and wrong decisions.
