Nitronyl Nitroxide Radicals Linked to Exchange‐Coupled Metal Dimers – Studies Using X‐ray Crystallography, Magnetic Susceptibility Measurements, EPR …
2009
To study long-range magnetic interactions between exchange-coupled metal centers and a radical moiety coordinated through a peripheral group, three new homodimetallic complexes with MnII, CoII, and ZnII bridged by a nitronyl nitroxide (NIT) substituted benzoate ligand with the structure [(NIT-C6H4-COO)M2(LR)](ClO4)2 {M = MnII, CoII, and ZnII; NIT = nitronyl nitroxide and LR = N,N,N′,N′-tetrakis(2-benzimidazolylalkyl)-2-hydroxy-1,3-diaminopropane} have been prepared and studied by X-ray crystallography, magnetic susceptibility measurements, EPR spectroscopy, and density functional theory calculations. For comparison, related complexes with MnII and CoII bridged by a diamagnetic nitrobenzoate…
How to make head or tail of ‘bridging’ and ‘bonding’?: addressing the methodological ambiguity1
2008
A distinction has recently been proposed between bridging (or encompassing) and bonding (or inward-looking) social networks. However, existing theoretical contributions remain vague as to the fundamental meaning of both concepts. As a consequence, two distinct interpretations have developed alongside each other. In the present paper, we employ data on voluntary association membership in Flanders to empirically illustrate that both approaches can lead to substantially different outcomes and therefore appear to tap into different dimensions of bridging versus bonding. These findings underline the problematic nature of the current conceptual ambiguity. We conclude that should the bridging/bond…
Standard of Care CAR-T Cell Therapy for Large B-Cell Lymphoma (LBCL): Does Bridging Efficacy Matter? a German GLA/DRST Real World Analysis
2021
Abstract Introduction The CD19 targeting CAR-T cell constructs axicabtagene ciloleucel (axi-cel) and tisagenlecleucel (tisa-cel) have become an accepted standard salvage treatment of LBCL beyond the second line. Patients scheduled for approved CAR-T cell therapies usually have 4-8 weeks wait time for CAR-T cell infusion, thus often requiring bridging strategies in rapidly progressing patients to achieve disease control until start of lymphodepletion. It is still unclear, however, if the adverse impact of active progressive lymphoma can be overcome by successful bridging. We have addressed this question using registry data provided by the German Registry for Stem Cell Transplantation (DRST),…
Association between sella turcica bridging and altered direction of dental eruption: A case-control study
2019
Background Calcification between the anterior and posterior clinoid processes, also the so-called sella turcica bridging, has been associated in some studies with skeletal anomalies as well as with dental and eruption disturbances. It was hypothesized that sella turcica bridging was associated with an altered direction of dental eruption. The aim of the study was to assess whether there was a relationship between the degree of calcification and the presence or absence of an alteration in the tooth eruption direction. Material and methods A case-control multicenter study was conducted. The study population consisted of 150 subjects (age 10-50 years), 30 of which presented some type of altera…
In situobservation of the formation, diffusion, and reactions of hydrogenous species inF2-laser-irradiatedSiO2glass using a pump-and-probe technique
2006
We quantitatively studied the formation, diffusion, and reactions of mobile interstitial hydrogen atoms $({\mathrm{H}}^{0})$ and molecules $({\mathrm{H}}_{2})$ in ${\mathrm{F}}_{2}$-laser-irradiated silica $(\mathrm{Si}{\mathrm{O}}_{2})$ glass between 10 and $330\phantom{\rule{0.3em}{0ex}}\mathrm{K}$. Two key techniques were used: single-pulse ${\mathrm{F}}_{2}$ laser photolysis of silanol (SiOH) groups to selectively create pairs of ${\mathrm{H}}^{0}$ and oxygen dangling bonds (nonbridging oxygen hole centers, NBOHC), and in situ photoluminescence measurements of NBOHCs to monitor their reactions with ${\mathrm{H}}^{0}$ and ${\mathrm{H}}_{2}$ as a function of time and temperature. A smalle…
Bridging the Gap Between Atomistic and Coarse-Grained Models of Polymers: Status and Perspectives
2000
Recent developments that increase the time and distance scales accessible in the simulations of specific polymers are reviewed. Several different techniques are similar in that they replace a model expressed in fully atomistic detail with a coarse-grained model of the same polymer, atomistic → coarse-grained (and beyond!), thereby increasing the time and distance scales accessible within the expenditure of reasonable computational resources. The bridge represented by the right-pointing arrow can be constructed via different procedures, which are reviewed here. The review also considers the status of methods which reverse this arrow, atomistic ← coarse-grained. This “reverse-mapping” recover…
A Heterobimetallic Anionic 3,6-Connected 2D Coordination Polymer Based on Nitranilate as Ligand
2016
In order to synthesize new coordination polymers with original architectures and interesting magnetic properties, we used the nitranilate ligand (C₆O₄(NO₂)₂2- = C₆N₂O₈2-), derived from the dianionic ligand dhbq2- (2,5-dihydroxy-1,4-benzoquinone = H₂C₆O₄2-). The use of this bis-bidentate bridging ligand led to [(DAMS)₂{FeNa(C₆N₂O₈)₃}·CH₃CN]n (1) (DAMS⁺ = C16H17N₂⁺ = 4-[4-(dimethylamino)-α-styryl]-1-methylpyridinium), a 2D heterometallic coordination polymer presenting an unprecedented structure for any anilato-based compound. This structural type is a 3,6-connected 2D coordination polymer derived from the well-known honeycomb hexagonal structure, where Fe(III) ions alternate with Na⁺ dimers …

Chains and channels in polynuclear copper(II) complexes with 2,3-bis(2-pyridyl)pyrazine (dpp) as bridging ligand; syntheses, crystal structures and m…
2000
Abstract The preparation and crystal structures for three Cu(II) polynuclear, chain complexes with 2,3-bis(2-pyridyl)pyrazine (dpp) as bridging ligand are reported, [Cu(dpp)(H2O)2]n(NO3)2n·2n/3H2O (1), [Cu(dpp)(H2O)2]n(CF3SO3)2n (2), and [Cu(dpp)(H2O)2]n(BF4)2n·2nH2O (3). For the latter compound the crystal structure at four different temperatures have been studied. Variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility data and ESR measurements of 1–3 and of the related copper(II) chain [Cu(dpp)(H2O)2]n(ClO4)2n·2nH2O (4) (whose structure was previously reported) have been performed. Compounds 1 and 2 crystallize in the same trigonal space group, R 3 c; 3 is orthorhombic, space group Pbca. Complexes …

2015
In the last twenty years the eld of the biomedical signal processing has known an upsurge, as witnessed by the progressively increasing number of peer-review international journals and sessions in biomedical meetings.
