Sistēmas “Ārsta Birojs” ambulatorās uzskaites lietotāja saskarnes uzlabojumi
2016
Motivations, engagement and adoption of e-WOM in restaurants.
2022
X-ray emission from young brown dwarfs in the Orion Nebula Cluster
2005
We use the sensitive X-ray data from the Chandra Orion Ultradeep Project (COUP) to study the X-ray properties of 34 spectroscopically-identified brown dwarfs with near-infrared spectral types between M6 and M9 in the core of the Orion Nebula Cluster. Nine of the 34 objects are clearly detected as X-ray sources. The apparently low detection rate is in many cases related to the substantial extinction of these brown dwarfs; considering only the BDs with $A_V \leq 5$ mag, nearly half of the objects (7 out of 16) are detected in X-rays. Our 10-day long X-ray lightcurves of these objects exhibit strong variability, including numerous flares. While one of the objects was only detected during a sho…
IceCube Search for High-Energy Neutrino Emission from TeV Pulsar Wind Nebulae
2020
Pulsar wind nebulae (PWNe) are the main gamma-ray emitters in the Galactic plane. They are diffuse nebulae that emit nonthermal radiation. Pulsar winds, relativistic magnetized outflows from the central star, shocked in the ambient medium produce a multiwavelength emission from the radio through gamma-rays. Although the leptonic scenario is able to explain most PWNe emission, a hadronic contribution cannot be excluded. A possible hadronic contribution to the high-energy gamma-ray emission inevitably leads to the production of neutrinos. Using 9.5 yr of all-sky IceCube data, we report results from a stacking analysis to search for neutrino emission from 35 PWNe that are high-energy gamma-ray…
Star-disk interaction in classical T Tauri stars revealed using wavelet analysis
2016
The extension of the corona of classical T Tauri stars (CTTS) is under discussion. The standard model of magnetic configuration of CTTS predicts that coronal magnetic flux tubes connect the stellar atmosphere to the inner region of the disk. However, differential rotation may disrupt these long loops. The results from Hydrodynamic modeling of X-ray flares observed in CTTS confirming the star-disk connection hypothesis are still controversial. Some authors suggest the presence of the accretion disk prevent the stellar corona to extent beyond the co-rotation radius, while others simply are not confident with the methods used to derive loop lengths. We use independent procedures to determine t…
Indication of a Pulsar Wind Nebula in the Hard X-Ray Emission from SN 1987A
2021
Since the day of its explosion, SN 1987A (SN87A) was closely monitored with the aim to study its evolution and to detect its central compact relic. The detection of neutrinos from the supernova strongly supports the formation of a neutron star (NS). However, the constant and fruitless search for this object has led to different hypotheses on its nature. Up to date, the detection in the ALMA data of a feature somehow compatible with the emission arising from a proto Pulsar Wind Nebula (PWN) is the only hint of the existence of such elusive compact object. Here we tackle this 33-years old issue by analyzing archived observations of SN87A performed Chandra and NuSTAR in different years. We fir…
Morphology and preliminary biomechanical interpretation of mandibular sutures in Metoposaurus krasiejowensis (Temnospondyli, Stereospondyli) from the…
2019
Altres ajuts: CERCA Programme/Generalitat de Catalunya The morphology of the mandibular sutures in the Late Triassic temnospondyl Metoposaurus krasiejowensis has been examined in order to determine their role in mandible biomechanics. Until now, no histological studies of mandibular sutures in extinct vertebrates were performed, in contrast to cranial sutures. As a consequence, mandibular suture interpretations herein are based mainly on comparisons with previous studies of cranial sutures and with 3D cranial finite element analysis of this species. A total of 32 standard thin sections were studied under standard petrographic microscope observations in order to differentiate the morphology …
– Introduction
2020
How to envisage research on the ancient city? What are the most appropriate instruments to analyse it? What are the relationships between the emergence of the city as an independent community and the urbanization as archaeology can restore it? Without claiming to resolve these difficult questions, the contributions gathered here show that urbanization and the definitions of the ancient city used by contemporary historians and archaeologists are far from being precisely determined; they can even vary according to the authors, disciplines, periods and contexts. As a consequence, there is no town, but towns; no city, but cities. The issue of a definition is also the evaluation of theories, in …
New fossil arthropods (Notostraca and Insecta: Syntonopterida) in the Continental Middle Permian of Provence (Bas-Argens Basin, France).
2009
9 pages; Apart frequent and relatively common ichnites, only a few body fossils (Ostracoda) have been mentioned in the Red Continental Permian formations of Provence till these last years. During 2006 and 2007 field researches, new arthropods have been discovered in the Pradineaux Formation of the Bas-Argens. They are Triopsidae (Crustacea, Notostraca) and an insect wing (Syntonopteridae) corresponding to a new genus and species Gallolithoneura butchlii gen. et sp. n. This latter is the first insect record in the Permian of Provence and the youngest one of this enigmatic Carboniferous paleopteran family. As in the other French Permian basins (Lodève, Saint-Affrique), these discoveries demon…
