This chapter presents results from two longitudinal studies, the FinEdu study and Helsinki Longitudinal Student Study (HELS), in which young people were followed for several years during critical educational transitions. We investigated the 28-year development trajectories of work ability among initially middle-aged male and female municipal employees and the association of perceived mental and physical work strain in midlife by work ability trajectory groups.The baseline data of the Finnish longitudinal study of municipal employees (FLAME) were collected in 1981 (N=6257) with follow-ups in 1985, 1992, 1997, and 2009. Work ability was assessed in all the waves as present perceived work ability relative to lifetime best. Objective. To explore the factorial structure of a Spanish version of the “Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey” (MBI-GS). Material and Methods. A cross-sectional study was conducted in 1999 among 149 municipal policemen in Tenerife, Spain. A questionnaire was applied to collect data on Professional Efficacy, Cynicism, and Burnout. Data were analyzed using factorial analysis and principal components with Varimax rotation. Results. However, palliative care professionals’ wellbeing has been the subject of very little research. The aim of this work is to study the Personal Wellbeing Index (PWI) in a sample of Spanish palliative care professionals, as well as to study their levels of wellbeing and the relationships of wellbeing with variables such as gender, age, marital status, profession, and professional quality of life. Achievement goal orientations and subjective well-being: A person-centred analysis

Abstract This study examined whether students with different achievement goal orientation profiles differ in terms of subjective well-being (i.e., self-esteem, depressive symptoms, school-related burnout, and educational goal appraisals). Six groups of students with unique motivational profiles were identified. Observed differences in subjective well-being indicated that goals related to self-improvement and growth were positively associated with various indices of well-being, whereas avoidance tendencies and concerns with validating or demonstrating one's competence were linked with different types of adjustment problems. El objetivo del este estudio fue evaluar la validez factorial y la consistencia interna del “Cuestionario para la Evaluación del Síndrome de Quemarse por el Trabajo” (CESQT). Se hipotetizó un modelo de cuatro factores, similar al del oringinal. La muestra fueron estuvo formada por 1110 médicos del Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social. El instrumento está formado por 20 items distribuidos en 4 subescalas: Ilusión por el trabajo (5 items), Desgaste psíquico (4 items), Indolencia (6 items), y Culpa (5 items). Objetivo: Determinar la ocurrencia e intensidad de Síndrome de Burnout (SB) en médicos y enfermeros/as ecuatorianos/as durante la pandemia del COVID-19.Materiales y métodos: Estudio observacional de corte transversal. Participaron 224 médicos/as y enfermeros/as de establecimientos de la red integral de salud ecuatoriana, a quienes se administró el Inventario de Burnout de Maslach.
