EV-planning: Electric vehicle itinerary planning

2014

International audience; In the latest few years, lot of efforts have been done to pave the way to sustainable mobility, in order to solve pollution problems and fuel shortage. The use of electric vehicles (EV) is considered as one of the best ecologic and economic solution. However, autonomy barriers and limitations slow the progress and the deployment of this technology. In this paper, we propose an advanced electric vehicles' fleet management architecture. This architecture considers the most important factors that can affect the traveling mode of electric vehicles, in order to offer different services to fleet management companies for an efficient monitoring and management of their fleet…

Inter-provider AAA and Billing of VoIP Users with Token-based Method

2007

With the increasing popularity of wireless LAN technology, providers of real-time voice over IP (VoIP) services, known as voice service providers (VSP), are asking for roaming solutions and AAA (Authentication, Authorization and Accounting) methods that allow users to use their services from any available public Internet access network. In this paper we propose an AAA and billing architecture that allows users of VSPs to have access to the Internet from wired and wireless access networks provided by both traditional carriers, such as 3G providers, and wireless local access network (WLAN) providers. We propose a token-based AAA method that allows users of VoIP services to have their VSPs as …

Applied study on the rotational molding and processing technology of rotational molds

2021

Computer-aided manufacturing involves a set of computerized activities related to the preparation, launch and follow-up of manufacturing. Computer-aided manufacturing is a tool that allows the use of 3D models based on computer-aided design. This paper addresses the process of rotational formation, with an effective focus on the technology of processing a rotational mold using CAM simulation as a research method. In this sense, the right choice of CNC and cutting tools is essential. The use of numerically controlled machine tools and high-performance cutting tools reduces the number of operations. The manufacturing route realized is specific to the parts machining on numerical control machi…

Land Use History and Site Formation Processes at the Punic Site of Pauli Stincus in West Central Sardinia

2013

The site of Pauli Stincus is located near the town of Terralba, on the inland shores of the Gulf of Oristano in west central Sardinia, Italy, and was occupied between the mid-4th and the late 2nd century B.C. The site and its surroundings were the object of a joint archaeopedological and geomorphological study, which complemented the data from archaeological excavations. This study allowed us to evaluate the suitability of the different landscape and soil components for crop production in the Punic period. The discovery of a buried plow soil at the site's edge enabled us to identify a set of agricultural practices carried out by Punic farmers. These included the removal of sandy topsoil to …

Configurable Passband Imaging Spectrometer Based on Acousto-optic Tunable Filter

2008

This work presents a new configurable imaging spectrometer called Autonomous Tunable Filtering System (ATFS). The system can be configured to acquire a single narrow spectral band, a composite multispectral image, or a broad pass-band. This flexibility is given by the use of an Acousto-Optic Tunable Filter (AOTF) driven by a programmable radio frequency (rf) signal generator. The AOTF acts as a light-diffraction element which output wavelength is selected by the frequency of an rf signal applied to it. The designed rf driver is based on a high-speed Digital-to-Analog converter, which can synthesize any composite rf waveform formed by a combination of sine signals. The images are formed thro…

Identification and Evaluation of Hazardous Pyrolysates in Bio-Based Rigid Polyurethane-Polyisocyanurate Foam Smoke

2021

In this study, rigid polyurethane (PU) and polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam samples made from renewable material (tall oil fatty acid) based polyols were analyzed by pyrolysis gas chromatography mass spectrometry (Py-GC/MS) to obtain information about the full relative smoke content, with a focus on substance identification by their functional groups and hazardousness. The relative content of gaseous products produced during the thermal degradation was evaluated between the two samples, differenced by their assigned isocyanate (NCO) index value—150 and 300. The main thermal degradation components of the rigid PU-PIR foam were found to originate from the decomposition of isocyanate, primarily for…

Theme 4: Immobilized Cell Technology in Wine Production

1994

AbstractIn spite of its traditional nature, wine making is largely concerned with the progress of biotechnology. High cell density reactors have potential for enology: improved performance of alcoholic and malolactic fermentations, smaller scale fermentation facilities, adaptation to continuous processes. Among the immobilization techniques, cell entrapment in alginate beads seems to be an impressive one. Alcoholic fermentation of wine, malolactic fermentation, bottle fermentation known as “Methode champenoise” and sparkling wine are among the industrial applications. Knowledge of kinetics and physiology in microorganisms in heterogeneous media has expanded in the last few years. The use of…

Immobilisation of yeasts on oak chips or cellulose powder for use in bottle-fermented sparkling wine

2019

[EN] Sparkling wine production comprises two successive fermentations performed by Sacharomyces cerevisiae strains. This research aimed to: develop yeast immobilisation processes on two wine-compatible supports; study the effects of yeast type (IOC 18-2007 and 55A) and the immobilisation support type (oak chips and cellulose powder) on the fermentation kinetics, the deposition rate of lees and the volatile composition of the finished sparkling wine; compare the fermentation parameters of the wines inoculated with immobilised or non-immobilised cells. Proper immobilisation of yeast on oak chips and cellulose powder was demonstrated by electron microscopy. Total sugar consumption occurred in …

Sulphate-reducing bacteria in paper machine waters and in suction roll perforations

1978

To define some aspects of the biological corrosion sulphate-reducing bacteria were studied in paper machine waters and in plugged perforations of a suction roll. The desulphuricants were most active on passive fiber recipients. Most bacteria found in fiber plugs taken from the perforations of suction rolls belonged to the genus Desulfovibrio. Desulphuricants were found mainly at the outer ends of plugged perforations, where corrosion of the roll metal is most evident.

Considerations on Cutting Regime Influence of NC Laser Cutting Machine Tool on Processed Surface Quality

2015

This paper presents the study of the influence of cutting parameters on surface quality in laser cutting of metallic materials. In this paper, it is shown which of the cutting parameters have the greatest influence on the quality of the processed surfaces by measuring various roughness parameters. After the experimental research was carried out a ranking of the factors of influence on the response functions was made, also graphs of dependency to various parameters of roughness were made.
