Background: The diagnosis of neck lesions remains a medico-legal diagnostic challenge because of the complexity of the anatomical relationship of the neck's organs and their anthropometric morphological variability. We compared the multidisciplinary approach using autopsy and postmortem computed tomography (PMCT), postmortem fine preparation (PMFP), postmortem micro-computed tomography (micro-CT), and postmortem magnetic resonance (PMMR) with the performance of a single diagnostic method among them evaluating the significance of different results. The suitability of a topographical instrument for an integrated approach to the cartography of posidonia-oceanica meadows

A large-scale map of the phytobenthic communities and, in particular, of the Posidonia oceanica meadow in the Bay of Mondello (Palermo, Italy) was made. The map was set up from aerial photography, which was verified by divers along ground-lines. The upper limit of the underwater vegetation, with special reference to the Posidonia oceanica meadow, was accurately located using a geodimeter. This topographical instrument proved to be very useful in realizing such cartography.

Il bacino del Valdarno superiore è famoso per la grande quantità di resti di mammiferi che ha prodotto fin dal Rinascimento. In questa area sono stati rinvenuti esemplari che sono stati poi scelti come tipi di molte specie europee del Pliocene medio-superiore (~ 3 Ma) e del Pleistocene inferiore (~ 2 - 1.5 Ma). Al fine di valorizzare tale patrimonio fossile, nasce la “Paleocarta del Valdarno”, un progetto sviluppato dal Museo Paleontologico di Montevarchi. Il bacino del Valdarno superiore è famoso fin dal Rinascimento per la grande quantità di resti fossili di mammiferi che ha prodotto. In questa area, con faune fossili che vanno dal Pliocene medio/superiore (~ 3 Mya) al Pleistocene medio/superiore (~ 300 - 100 Kya), sono stati rinvenuti esemplari successivamente scelti come tipi di alcune delle specie europee del Pliocene e del Pleistocene inferiore (~ 2-1.5 Mya). Per valorizzare tale patrimonio fossile, rendendolo interamente fruibile on-line e migliorando di conseguenza l’accessibilità alle collezioni da parte di specialisti e non, nasce la “Paleocarta del Valdarno”, sviluppata dal Museo Paleontologico di Montevarchi (AR) con il contributo…
