Zebrafish Fins as a Model System for Skeletal Human Studies

Recent studies on the morphogenesis of the fins ofDanio rerio(zebrafish) during development and regeneration suggest that a number of inductive signals involved in the process are similar to some of those that affect bone and cartilage differentiation in mammals and humans. Akimenko et al. (2002) has shown that bone morphogenetic protein-2b (BMP2b) is involved in the induction of dermal bone differentiation during fin regeneration. This contribution proposes a combination of archaeological fabric analysis and petrographic research applied to the study of 35 sherds of Graeco-Italic amphorae mostly found in Palermo, but also in Pantelleria and Malta (Tab. 1). The provenance identification derived from both approaches gives evidence for the arrival, in North-Western Sicily, of presumable wine amphorae from central-Tyrrhenian Italy since the very late 4th century BC. The production of the majority of the material has been confidentially attributed to the area of the Gulf of Naples/Ischia, but a second large group originates from several, still unidentified production sites to be located along the coastal strip of Campania…

Nei primi tre si tenta di mettere a fuoco i temi principalmente dibattuti nel carteggio: la moralità dell’arte, la lontananza dalla Sicilia, il rapporto con la critica e il pubblico. Il quarto capitolo si propone di contribuire alla ricostruzione della biblioteca reale e fruita di Giovanni Verga. Come è noto un servizio di posizionamento GNSS materializza un sistema di riferimento e distribuisce all’utenza che opera nel settore geodetico dati, prodotti e stime delle coordinate nel medesimo sistema. Per questo motivo si rende necessaria un accurata e continua stima delle coordinate, delle stazioni permanenti che compongono la rete, effettuata attraverso opportuni processi di compensazione. Les représentations spatiales de concepts scientifiques : inventaire et diversité

The consultation of twelve journals (French and English language) that deal with science education, for the years 1991 to 1993, allowed us to summarize the use of spatial representations of scientific concepts in didactics research. Two main results were produced from this study : there has not been much work published with spatial representations, and what has been published is very heterogeneous. Analysis of this diversity does not always allow us to understand the authors’ objectives and obliges researchers in didactics to think about the nature and role of spatial representations in the construction of scientific knowledge.

Las entidades locales se enfrentan en la actualidad a una pérdida de confianza de los ciudadanos. Entre los desafíos a los que tienen que dar respuesta estas entidades, destaca la necesidad de explorar distintas opciones de implicar a los ciudadanos en el diseño y prestación de los servicios públicos, así como desarrollar nuevas formas de rendición de cuentas, transparencia e información. En esta tesis proponemos las cartas de servicio como uno de los posibles instrumentos de información que pueden complementar los informes tradicionales, que bien por su contenido, bien por la forma de presentación, no cubren totalmente las necesidades de los ciudadanos.
