La circulation des objets métalliques à l'âge du Bronze entre Rhône et Saône: utilisation d'une transformation cartographique linéaire

In order to gain a better understanding of circulation flows of metal objects during the Bronze Age, and move beyond traditional distribution maps of archaeological discoveries, the authors propose a more quantitative and concise method of graphic representation, namely cartographic linear transformation. The value of the method was tested on the Saône-Rhône axis. Bronze axes, swords and daggers were recorded along a 50 km strip either side of the river axis, in order to estimate the frequency and mass of objects in “circulation”.

This article addresses the impacts of differential preservation in an alkaline shell midden (fig. 1) overlying an acid soil which does not allow bone to survive. This midden accumulated over an extended period and displays unusual traits attributable to practices of a ritual nature (Le Bihan et Méniel, 2002). Excavation extended to approximately 1000 square metres (fig. 2). Bone was collected on a quarter-metre grid by individual context (fig. 3). In Brussels in 1549 Charles V commissioned four bronze and four marble sculptures from Leone Leoni, to which were added new orders. The sculptor worked on them, especially the bronzes, in Milan, and they were shipped to Spain along with other works at the time of the arrival of the Emperor and the Court. This article discusses the history and evolution of the marbles and a bust (Prado Museum: E-260, E-262, E-267, E-269, E-291), which were sent from Genoa to Cartagena, where they remained until 1568. Urban 3-D models for plannig of mobile telephony systems

This paper deals with an application of numerical cartography, carried out by means of digital photogrammetry techniques, aimed at the planning of mobile telephony cells. Particularly, urban 3-D vector models (wireframe), got by digital restitution and integrated by raster images referred to rectified buildings facades, were carried out in a sample area selected inside the Orleans Park, seat of the Palermo University. Then such models were processed by computer graphics techniques owing to the operations of rendering and animation. These 3-D representations could come in very useful for study and planning of mobile telephony networks in urban areas.

Revisiting Bicausative Matrices: The Swiss Cheese of Chaos

This paper returns to de Mesnard's paper of 2000, which has exposed the so-called method of bicausative matrices. This method was created to analyze the structural change between two matrices, as an improvement of the causative method of Jackson and al. (1990). In its 2000 paper, de Mesnard has shown that chaos affects the bicausative method: two solutions are found with a brutal switching between both. This new paper demonstrates that the chaos can be largely circumvented, is essentially localized in a small interval and is only a transitory effect between two non-chaotic "regimes", is not always observed, is limited to relatively small matrices.

La tesi doctoral “Atlas Lingüístico de la Península Ibérica (ALPI): Estudi i edició del País Valencià” pretén recuperar un material lingüístic (fonètic, morfosintàctic i lèxic) inèdit recollit al País Valencià entre 1934 (pobles castellanoparlants) i 1935 (pobles valencianoparlants) per investigadors de la talla de M. Sanchis Guarner i F. de B. Moll. La recuperació d’aquest material està feta de forma digital, escrita (edició de les enquestes) i il·lustrada per mapes lingüístics (cartografia selectiva).
