Abstract BACKGROUND Increasing evidence shows obesity and poor metabolic health are associated with cognitive deficits, but the mechanistic connections have yet to be resolved. We studied rats selectively bred for low and high intrinsic aerobic capacity in order to test the association between low physical fitness, a genetic predisposition for obesity, and brain health. We hypothesized that low-capacity runner (LCR) rats with concurrently greater levels of adiposity would have increased hippocampal inflammation and reduced plasticity compared to the more physically fit high-capacity runner (HCR) rats. El trabajo presenta unas tablas que recientemente han aparecido en el mercado artístico. Cuatro de ellas las atribuimos al anónimo Maestro de Portillo. Una quinta tabla, subastada en Italia, la adscribimos al Maestro de Calzada, que trabajó, sobre todo, en el ámbito vallisoletano. Estas personalidades artísticas continúan en el anonimato, seguramente por la escasa documentación conservada en el territorio donde ejercieron su profesión. Electro-optical characterization of new classes of Silicon Carbide UV photodetectors

In this paper, we present the fabrication process steps and the characterization of 4H-SiC vertical Schottky UV detectors, where interdigitated strips, acting as top metal contacts, have been realized in $\hbox{Ni}_{2}\hbox{Si}$ . These devices exploit the pinch-off surface effect. $I$ – $V$ and $C$ – $V$ characteristics, as functions of temperature, were measured in dark conditions. In addition, we have carried out responsivity measurements, for wavelengths ranging from 200 to 400 nm, at varying package temperature and applied reverse bias. Claude-Louis Berthollet (1748-1822) was one of the greatest French chemists of the eighteenth and the first 20 years of the nineteenth century. His life and scientific achievements were described in the literature published between the 19th and 21st centuries in different countries. The purpose of this article was to familiarize readers with the important events in the life of C.-L. Berthollet and his research activities, in particular some of his experimental research results, as well as his selected publications. In addition, the names of authors of biographies or biographical notes about Claude-Louis Berthollet, published in 1823-2018 were presented.
