Modeling and energy optimization of the operative parts of an air assisted drill
2016
In the context of sustainable farming, the optimization of the energy costs of agricultural operations allows shorter working times and high quality of the agricultural operations. This question relates particularly to the seeding. This operation one is decisive for the quality of the future harvest. The modern high capacity seed drills must be compatible with all the constraints. The main goal of this PhD thesis is thus to develop an innovative methodology, integrating the modeling tools, in order to reduce the energy consumption of the heavy seeding equipment. Thus, we explored four key aspects concerning air seed drill design: maneuverability of poly-articulated seed drills; establishmen…
Development of the microwave transduction applied to ammonia detection : from nanomaterials to broadband sensor, understanding of the mechanisms and …
2017
The main objective of this thesis is to propose an analysis of the microwave transduction specificities in the framework of ammonia sensing applications. The two main features of this transduction are its broadband characterization (1 to 8 GHz) as well as its sensitive materials (dielectrics). This transduction method is based on the interaction between a polluting gas and a sensitive material deposited on the surface of a microwave-specific propagating structure. The response of the sensor is not directly induced by the dielectric properties of the gaseous target molecule, but rather by those of the target species adsorbed on the surface of the sensitive material. This adsorption causes a …
Design and computer simulations of 2D MeX2 solid-state nanopores for DNA and protein detection analysis
2020
Solid-state nanopores (SSN) have emerged as versatile devices for biomolecule analysis. One of the most promising applications of SSN is DNA and protein sequencing, at a low cost and faster than the current standard methods. SSN sequencing is based on the measurement of ionic current variations when a biomolecule embedded in electrolyte is driven through a nanopore under an applied electric potential. As a biomolecule translocates through the nanopore, it occupies the pore volume and blocks the passage of ions. Hence, ultrafast monitoring of ionic flow during the passage of a biomolecule yields information about its structure and chemical properties. The size of the sensing region in SSN is…
Global-Scale Evaluation of Roughness Effects on C-Band AMSR-E Observations
2015
Quantifying roughness effects on ground surface emissivity is an important step in obtaining high-quality soil moisture products from large-scale passive microwave sensors. In this study, we used a semi-empirical method to evaluate roughness effects (parameterized here by the parameter) on a global scale from AMSR-E (Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer for EOS) observations. AMSR-E brightness temperatures at 6.9 GHz obtained from January 2009 to September 2011, together with estimations of soil moisture from the SMOS (Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity) L3 products and of soil temperature from ECMWF’s (European Centre for Medium-range Weather Forecasting) were used as inputs in a retrieval…
Mesure de l’efficacité de la lutte contre l’ambroisie : étude de faisabilité
2013
Common ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia L.) is known for its high allergenic pollens and by the difficulty to control this invasive plant which make it a problem for public health and is a harmfulness in rural areas. This first work aims to make a feasibility study to verify the proper functioning of selected traps and the correct implementation of specific procedures. It was decided to use passive traps SIGMA2 (SIGMA2 Like Trap ou SLT). Two geographical areas were selected, each with 4 traps: an infested area in Isère and a slightly infested area in Côte d'Or. SLT traps used can well collect pollen from local areas, the collected quantities vary in a corresponding manner according to the d…

Synthesis of molecular materials and heterojunctions, on the interest of ambipolar materials in conductometric gas sensors
2017
The molecular semiconductors have enabled the production of electronic devices such as field effect transistors, diodes and other heterojunctions. The ambipolar materials, capable of carrying both positive charges and negative, result in devices with special properties. The purpose of this thesis is to synthesize new ambipolar materials develop original electronic devices, especially for applications in the field of gas sensors. We are interested in molecules capable to lead to thin films with low temperature techniques known as solution processing, particularly metallo-phthalocyanines.
Optimization of flat area coverage under connectivity constraint in wireless sensor networks
2022
A wireless sensor network consists of a set of small autonomous units that interact via a network built by their communication modules. They observe their environment, capture information, then manage this information according to their computing and/or storage capacity. To effectively accomplish their task(s), they need to cover as much of the area of interest as possible. It is therefore essential to quantify the quality of their coverage. In this thesis, we therefore seek to best cover an area of interest, with a precise number of sensors. While taking into account the possible overlaps between sensors, we first deploy in a zone of regular dimensions and evaluate the exact coverage using…

Treated wastewaters discharged from wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) and livestock effluents are the main sources of contamination of aquatic environments and of agricultural soils by human and animal fecal micro-organisms. Contaminated waters, especially bathing waters, may present a sanitary risk for humans if the concentrations of fecal micro-organisms are high, thus indicating the potential presence of pathogenic and/or antibiotic resistant strains. Soils and crops also can be contaminated by these micro-organisms when treated wastewaters are used to irrigate cultivated soils. Consequently, microbiological quality controls are mandatory for bathing waters and treated wastewaters to ma…
