The entomopathogenic nematode-bacterium complex of Steinernema-Xenorhabdus has high potential as lethal biological control agent against many insect pest species. The Red Palm Weevil (RPW) Rhynchophorus ferrugineus (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) is an important worldwide palm trees pest. This insect is a quarantined pest, accidentally introduced in Sicily in 2005. The pest is killed by Steirnenema carpocapsae, but nematodes are unable to reproduce in the RPW larvae. L’occupation se caractérise tout d’abord par une batterie au moins une soixantaine de silos de la transition entre le premier et le second Âge du Fer avec un bruit de fond Néolithique (mobilier résiduel) et Bronze final (quelques fosses et silos). Certains de ces silos ont livré un important mobilier céramique qui, couplé à des rejets de forges et des objets attestant d’un travail de tissage, pourrait indiquer la présence d’un habitat associé à proximité immédiate. L’activité métallurgique est attestée dès le Hallstatt D3.Si aucune inhumation n’a été retrouvé dans les silos, quelques ossements humains épars ont été prélevé dans quatre d’entre eux. Lauku putnu sugas (tai skaitā mazais svilpis) Eiropā kopš 20. gadsimta beigām līdz pat šim brīdim ir piedzīvojušas būtisku cilvēka saimnieciskās darbības ietekmi uz populācijām. Darba mērķis bija izstrādāt mazā svilpja populācijas sastopamības ierobežojošos faktorus atspoguļojušu matemātisku modeli teritorijā, kur lauksaimniecības zemes nav dominējošās, izmantojot iegūto modeli, veikt sugas sastopamības prognozēšanu pētījumu teritorijā. Pētījuma teritorijā mazā svilpja sastopamības noskaidrošanai nejauši izvēlēti parauglaukumi tika apsekoti divas līdz trīs reizes sezonā, fiksējot arī konstatēšanas varbūtību ietekmējošus mainīgos.
