This work focuses on the study of the meanings conveyed by two visual perception verbs (mirar and veure) in Central Catalan within the theoretical framework of cognitive semantics. Our objective is twofold: (i) to analyze and describe them in order to establish metaphorical and metonymic semantic projections; and (ii) to determine the intralinguistic distribution of the non-prototypical meanings of these verbs. This study addresses the deep level of morphological variation, of morphological variation strictly speaking. It has long been noticed that more perceptible elements tend to associate to positions that are structurally stronger to the end that several prominent features converge in the same site; and vice versa: elements of low perceptibility prototypically associate to less prominent positions ("positional markedness"). Sintaxi dels clítics pronominals en català medieval

In this article a classical topic of the studies on historical syntax is analysed: the enclitical or proclitical collocation of atonic pronouns in Catalan. From a Romanic and comparative prespective, it is shown that the clitical pronouns in Old Catalan have a very similar behaviour to the atonic ones in other Romanic lenguages such as, for instance, medieval Spanish or Portuguese, on one hand, and French, on the other. Specifically, we analyse phenomena such as: (i) pronoun collocation in connection to the verb in main and subordinate propositions, in propositions where the verb is the main constituent, in negative propositions, (ii) duplication of clitics or (iii) clitic raising.

In Catalonia, in a short period of time, statistics have raised from the 1% recorded ten years ago to the current 13% of students of foreign’s origin. This change has increased linguistic diversity regarding student’s background. However, more than a 50% are from Hispanic origin and the majority have Spanish as their mother tongue. In this case, and strictly from a linguistic point of view, the linguistic immersion programs used in Catalonia to teach Catalan to Spanish students maintain their validity. El treball analitza l’adequació de les perioditzacions de la història de la llengua catalana amb l’objectiu proposar-ne una que siga compatible amb el caràcter social de què actualment pretenen revestir-se la majoria de les històries de la llengua. Així, es considera fora de lloc el tractament d’algun període previ a l’existència de la llengua catalana, com la de la romanització, i es rebutja alguna etiqueta que és una tradició inventada, com la de la reconquista. Aquest treball analitza la reacció dels erudits i escriptors valencians davant els postulats de la filologia romànica sobre el català entre els anys 1858 i 1906, agrupant-los segons les seues respostes al tema del nom i de la identitat filològica del català. A més, tractem de relacionar les posicions d'aquests valencians amb el conjunt del moviment reinaixencista i amb la consciència de comunitat lingüística compartida amb catalans, balears i nordcatalans.
