Rich clusters from SDSS DR8

The study of the properties of galaxy clusters and their environment gives us information about the formation and evolution of galaxies, groups and clusters, and larger structures - superclusters of galaxies and the whole cosmic web. We study the relations between the multimodality of galaxy clusters drawn from the SDSS DR8 and the environment where they reside. As cluster environment we consider the global luminosity density field, supercluster membership, and supercluster morphology.

Baryon Acoustic Oscillations in LRGs

Baryon Acoustic Oscillations (BAO) have been previously detected using correlation functions and power spectra of the galaxy distribution. In this work, we present a new method for the detection of the real-space structures associated with this feature. These baryon acoustic structures are spherical shells with a relatively small density contrast, surrounding high density central regions. We design a specific wavelet adapted to the search for shells, and exploit the physics of the process by making use of two different mass tracers, introducing a specific statistic to detect the BAO features. REFLEX galaxies redshifts

We present the final data from the spectroscopic survey of the ROSAT-ESO Flux-Limited X-ray (REFLEX) catalogue of galaxy clusters. The REFLEX survey covers 4.24 steradians (34% of the entire sky) below a declination +2.50{deg} and at high galactic latitude (|b|<20{deg}). The full survey includes 447 galaxy clusters with a median redshift of 0.08 and is better than 90% complete to a limiting flux of f_X_=3x10^-12^ergs/s/cm^2^ (3fW/m^2^, 0.1 to 2.4keV), representing the largest statistically homogeneous sample of clusters to date drawn from the ROSAT All-Sky Survey (RASS). This article presents a unique advertising brochure dating from 1900 which was published by the organ building company Voelkner from Duninów and which has been discovered in the State Archives in Wrocław in the files of the Silesian Evangelical Consistory. The catalogue contains 47 pages and is a valuable source for the history of the Voelkner company. By studying this publication, the reader will get acquainted with the trends prevailing in the field of organ building at the turn of the 19th to the 20th centuries. However, the advertising folder does not contain any listing of the works realized by the company, which is probably its greatest shortcoming.

Our paper addresses the relevance of a set of continuous and categorical variables that describe industry characteristics to differences in performance between foreign versus locally owned companies in industries with dissimilar levels of technological intensity.
