The co-construction of the identical positionings of teachers and pupils in physical education
2015
This doctoral work is interested in the identical positionings of the teachers and the pupils led by the relation that the social scene in Physical Education establishes between them. These positionings are approached by means of the theories bound to the social categorization and more precisely the theory of the social identity, the theory of the auto-categorization and the conception of the social partitions. If the social partitions establish a continuation of the first two theories, they also rest on their own theoretical foundation, based on social psychology of the language. The goal of the first work was to propose a review of certain principles of the social categorization. This pro…
When your nose knows what you see : multisensory development of visual categorization : evidence from odor-driven face categorization in the human br…
2020
This thesis examines whether and how odors contribute to the development of visual categorization in the human brain using fast periodic visual stimulation coupled with scalp electroencephalography (FPVS-EEG). Specifically, we sought to characterize if a neural visual response selective to the face category is modulated by the presence of a body odor in both infants (Study 1, 2, 3) and adults (Study 4).In infants, the selectivity of the odor effect on visual categorization was addressed by testing separately three categories in three groups of 4-month-old infants presented with a control odor or their mother’s odor. We observed that a face-selective response is largely enhanced by maternal …

Dynamique de l'identité européenne
2007
This study is a theorical investigation concerning European identity. The research context is social identity theory (SIT, Tajfel & Turner, 1986), self categorization theory (SCT, Turner, Oakes, Reicher & Wetherell, 1987) and their recent developments. We principally argue that transnational categories are more important to reinforce European entativity than geographical cognitive levels of inclusiveness generally considered.

" LIVING TOGETHER " PREVENTION WORKSHOPS ON RADICALIZATION IN PRISON SETTING
2016
International audience; We aim to introduce a field action set up in the prison field following the Paris attacks (07/01/2015) in order to create a talking and thinking space for new arrivals in jail. This action, based on prevention workshops (N=7), has been hosted each time by a probation officer and a psychologist, allowing about forty incarcerated men to think about each one's place as a citizen. We used intergroup relations framework, specifically of social categorization metatheory (Abrams & Hogg, 2004; Tajfel & Turner, 1979, 1986; Turner et al., 1987), supplemented by theory of social partitions (Castel & Lacassagne, 2011, 2015). The methodology is based on empathy in relationship, i…

Racial stacking et stéreotypes raciaux en sport collectif : le cas particulier du basket-ball en contexte français
2013
This doctoral research investigates how categorization and stereotypes are conveyed when it comes to ethnic discrimination in basket-ball. The first study (racial stacking which was performed in the Pro National Basket-ball League A in France) shows that white players are more likely to be over-represented when it comes to the position of point guard considered as central in regard to the performance. The available evidence produced by the second phase of the research highlights the existence of categorization (racial stacking), of stereotypes (which conveys the belief that some people possess certain genetic and ethnic traits) and of biased discourse (more favorable implication in the disc…
Entre la sintaxis y el discurso: el caso de 'a lo mejor' y 'al menos' en la conversación coloquial
2018
This paper studies the Spanish forms a lo mejor (maybe) and al menos (at least) from a modular perspective, revisiting the categorization of a lo major and al menos according to the involved linguistic level and analyzing the relations between the adverbial uses of these forms and the discursive ones. Such relations show that the forms a lo mejor and al menos can be considered bicategorial lexical items, what is implemented by a corpus study based on data from spoken language.
