Resum: Aquest article se centra en l'estudi del tractament de l'erotisme en algunes de les composicions pòetiques de Francesc Fontanella (1622-1682/3). El treball estudia quinze epístoles literàries que l'autor va dedicar a les monges dels convents dels Àngels i de Jerusalem de Barcelona durant la dècada de 1640. Es divideix en dues parts; a la primera s'identifiquen les composicions objecte d'estudi, es presenten breument i s'aclareixen alguns problemes relacionats amb la seva transmissió. A la segona s'analitzen detalladament totes les referències eròtiques presents als textos. Georadar Investigations in the Church of San Paolo (San Giacomo Dei Militari, Palermo).

Summary As part of a research project aimed at drawing up a restoration project for the church of San Paolo, the monument was investigated with georadar surveys. The investigations were followed in a targeted manner by archaeological excavations, under the supervision of the Superintendence of Cultural and Environmental Heritage of Palermo. The San Paolo church is located in the oldest part of the city. The geophysical investigations will be useful to identify any pre-existing structures on which the church could be founded. Comparison of two different techniques of reperfusion in adult orthotopic liver transplantation

: The aim of this study was to determine the impact of two reperfusion techniques on the peri-operative hemodynamic changes and early post-operative graft function of adult patients undergoing orthotopic liver transplantation. Material and methods: From June 2003 to May 2004, 50 consecutive liver transplants were performed and divided into two groups: group A, 25 patients, portal vein flush with 500 cm3 of Ringer's lactate without vena caval venting. Group B, 25 patients, vena caval venting with no portal vein flush. Donor and recipient characteristics were similar in both groups. BACKGROUND: CD248 is a pro-inflammatory, transmembrane glycoprotein expressed by vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC), monocytes/macrophages, and other cells of mesenchymal origin. Its distribution and properties are reminiscent of those of the initiator of coagulation, tissue factor (TF). OBJECTIVE: We examined whether CD248 also participates in thrombosis. Abstract Background Pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) has entrenched itself as one of the main approaches for the treatment of paroxysmal symptomatic atrial fibrillation (AF). Pulmonary vein isolation prevents focal triggers from pulmonary veins from initiating AF paroxysms.
