An Architecture for Collaborative Scenarios Applying a Common BPMN-Repository
2005
Collaborative business scenarios require a flexible integration of enterprises. To manage inter-organizational business processes, existing concepts for business process management (BPM) need to be adopted and extended. This paper presents a conceptual architecture for cross-enterprise processes’ planning, implementation, and controlling. Core component of the architecture is a distributed repository managing all required data and information, which especially obtains a process-oriented view on collaboration networks. Cross-organizational processes need close coordination among networking partners. This is achieved through the integration of business process models. Thus we further propose …
Chaotic dynamics around cometary nuclei
2017
We apply a generalized Kepler map theory to describe the qualitative chaotic dynamics around cometary nuclei, based on accessible observational data for five comets whose nuclei are well-documented to resemble dumb-bells. The sizes of chaotic zones around the nuclei and the Lyapunov times of the motion inside these zones are estimated. In the case of Comet 1P/Halley, the circumnuclear chaotic zone seems to engulf an essential part of the Hill sphere, at least for orbits of moderate to high eccentricity.
Business models and opportunity creation: How IT entrepreneurs create and develop business models under uncertainty
2015
How can entrepreneurs develop business models for markets in which the technology is constantly changing-or create business models for markets that do not exist? These are fundamental questions for information technology IT entrepreneurs, and for information systems IS scholars who seek to develop a theoretical understanding of business models. The case study presented in this paper addressed these questions, demonstrating how a small software firm developed its business model over a 15-year period in cloud gaming markets. Based on the empirical findings, a preliminary theoretical model is presented. The aim of the model is to increase scholarly understanding of how business models are crea…
Brancati su Pirandello e il pirandellismo
2019
Arsenic-induced DNA hypomethylation affects chromosomal instability in mammalian cells
2004
Early genetic instability induced in dividing V79-Cl3 Chinese hamster cells by inorganic arsenic, as demonstrated in our previous investigation, was evidenced by aneuploidy and nuclear abnormalities, but not by chromosomal rearrangements. Here we report the results of cytogenetic and morphological analyses performed on the progeny of cells dividing at the end of sodium arsenite treatment after they had been expanded through 120 generations (ASO cells) and then cloned. The acquired genetic instability persisted and was increased by highly unstable chromosomal rearrangements, namely dicentric chromosomes and telomeric associations, which were not seen following acute exposure. A peculiar find…
Self-validating bundles for flexible data access control
2016
Modern cloud-based services offer free or low-cost content sharing with significant advantages for the users but also new issues in privacy and security. To protect sensitive contents (i.e., copyrighted, top secret, and personal data) from the unauthorized access, sophisticated access management systems or/and decryption schemes have been proposed, generally based on trusted applications at client side. These applications work also as access controllers, verifying specific permissions and restrictions accessing user’s resources. We propose secure bundles (S-bundles), which encapsulate a behavioral model (provided as bytecode) to define versatile stand-alone access controllers and encoding/d…
Relation of endocrine and cardiac findings in acromegalics
1992
Cardiac involvement in 32 acromegalics was related to endocrine parameters, clinical score and duration of the disease as well as compared to that of 50 controls free of cardiac disease. Stress ECG, 24h Holter monitoring and echocardiography revealed that supraventricular premature complexes did not occur more often in acromegalics than in controls, both prevalence and severity of ventricular arrhythmia, however, were higher in patients compared to controls: 15/32 (48%) acromegalics had complex ventricular arrhythmia as compared with 6/50 (12%) normal subjects (p less than 0.01). Repetitive ventricular arrhythmia was manifest in 10/32 (31%) patients but only in 4/50 (8%) controls (p less th…
Concentric force enhancement during human movement
2001
In order to understand the possible mechanisms contributing to enhanced concentric performance in stretch-shortening cycle exercises in vivo the present study examined knee extension torque, electromyogram (EMG) activity and fascicle length of the vastus lateralis muscle in maximal and submaximal human movements. Maximal concentric knee extensions (120 degrees s(-1)) were done after pre-stretch and pre-isometric conditions by nine volunteers. During shortening at the knee angle of 115 degrees (180 degrees = extended) the knee extension torque was found to be greater in pre-stretch condition (272 vs. 248 N m, P < 0.05) although the torque level prior to shortening was smaller than in pre-iso…
Risk Assessment of Electron Induced SEE during the JUICE Mission
2018
The SEE sensitivity of electronic devices to high energy electrons has been put in evidence experimentally. Several ground experiments have shown that electron induced SEE could occur in recent technologies. In the case of the JUICE mission, the expected electron environment is harsher than for Earth orbits. The impact of such electron fluxes on the embedded electronics was assessed in this work. The study focused on SRAM memories SEU sensitivity. Three different device references were tested under electrons, as well as under protons and heavy ions. The electron and the low energy proton direct ionization contributions to the total SEU rate have been studied in more detail.
