A privacy enhanced device access protocol for an IoT context

In this paper, we present the case for a device authentication protocol that authenticates a device/service class rather than an individual device. The devices in question are providing services available to the public. The proposed protocol is an online protocol, and it uses a pseudo-random temporary identity scheme to provide user privacy. This allows the Internet-of-Things device to have full assurance of the user, with respect to the request service, while permitting the user to remain anonymous with respect to the device. The user can then enjoy identity and location privacy in addition to untraceability with respect to device access. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

After several meta-analysis studies were published, comparing the quality of food derived from organic and non-organic origin, it is still not clear if food from organic production per se can guarantee product related added-values to consumers. Namely, it is proposed that a BICA agent can only be considered human-level intelligent if it can be accepted and trusted as an equal member (a “person”) by a human community. ABSTRACTIn Italy, as in Europe, the number of internationally adopted school-aged children is increasing. The school is the first place where they can meet their new context, enabling good achievement of the whole integration and adoption processes. The research uses a qualitative method to explore the representations and the strategies that guide the educational work of 268 teachers of eight primary schools in relation to the adoptive family. ATLAS.ti 7.0 software was used. The results show an ambivalent representation of the adoptive family, which is reflected in the contents and strategy used by teachers to address issues of adoption.

One hundred and twenty six samples of fresh pork sausages were analysed-for the presence of verocytotoxigenic Escherichia coli (VTEC). Selective enrichment followed by DNA extraction and PCR amplification of the stx1 and stx2 genes highlighted the occurrence of the above mentioned genes in 20 out of 126 samples screened. From the stx positive enriched cultures, isolation was performed on CT-SMAC agar plates after immuno-magnetic separation of E. coli O157. Fifty three non-sorbitol fermenting isolates were obtained and further characterised, along with the reference strain E. coli ATCC 35150(T). A textbook constitutes the hegemonic material of the educational institution. It acts as a mediator between the official curriculum and the educational practice. Given its potential influence in the classroom, this study analyzes the treatment of word problems included in the mathematics textbooks published by the publishing houses with the greatest diffusion in Spain at every primary education grade. Three variables were analyzed: their semantic structure, their degree of challenge, and their situational context.
