Culturable endophytic microbial communities in the circumpolar grass,Deschampsia flexuosain a sub-Arctic inland primary succession are habitat and gr…

2014

Summary Little is known about endophytic microbes in cold climate plants and how their communities are formed. We compared culturable putative endophytic bacteria and fungi in the ecologically important circumpolar grass, Deschampsia flexuosa growing in two successional stages of subarctic sand dune (68°29′N). Sequence analyses of partial 16S rRNA and internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequences of culturable endophytes showed that diverse bacteria and fungi inhabit different tissues of D. flexuosa. A total of 178 bacterial isolates representing seven taxonomic divisions, Alpha, Beta and Gammaproteobacteria, Actinobacteria, Bacteroidetes, Firmicutes and Acidobacteria, and 30 fungal isolates …

Natural oxygenation of Champagne wine during ageing on lees: A metabolomics picture of hormesis

2016

International audience; The oxygenation of Champagne wine after 4 and 6 years of aging on lees in bottle was investigated by FTICR-MS and UPLC-Q-TOF-MS. Three levels of permeability were considered for the stoppers, ranging from 0.2 to 1.8 mg/L/year of oxygen transfer rate. Our results confirmed a good repeatability of ultrahigh resolution FTICR-MS, both in terms of m/z and coefficient of variation of peak intensities among biological replicates. Vintages appeared to be the most discriminated features, and metabolite annotations suggested that the oldest wines (2006) were characterized by a higher sensitivity towards oxygenation. Within each vintage, the oxygenation mechanisms appeared to b…

2021

Actes du colloque Arkéaube; International audience; This jointly authored paper encompasses several contributions which highlight new issues in environmental archaeology and incorporate palaeo-environmental data from preventiveexcavations. More specifically, it broaches three questions:-The evolution of the environment from the Late Glacial to the present day is analysed using faunal remains (malacofaunae—molluscs, etc.) and botanicalremains (pine trunks) preserved in the alluvial deposits of the river Seine;-Riverside occupations based on reconstructions of the hydrography and hydrographic functioning of the channels documented in the Pont-sur-Seine sector and in Bassée;-The marshes assume…

2013

In the Sahel, wind erosion occurs particularly in cultivated fields. This work was leaded at Banizoumbou in Niger where wind erosion fluxes have been measured for six years. The aims of this study was i) to monitor crop residues cover on traditional field and to quantify its influence on wind erosion ii) to characterize the impacts of soils crusting on erosion flux, iii) to characterize the impact of herbaceous strips on wind flux. Results showed that crop residues efficiently prevent cultivated fields from wind erosion during the dry season (January to April) and considerably reduce erosion fluxes at the beginning of the rainy season (May to July). Under a minimal crop residues cover rate …

Sesquiterpene lactones and dihydroflavonols from Andryala and Urospermum species

1994

Abstract The aerial parts of two Andryala species yielded several guaianolides and guaianolide glycosides, three of them being new. The aerial parts of Urospermum dalechampii yielded several known germacranolides and the new dihydroflavonol 3- O -methyltaxifolin.

Visual scale factor for speed perception rendering in car driving simulation

2010

Speed perception is an important task that the driver must perform continuously to control his/her vehicle. It appears that many factors influence this perception: height of the point of view, field of view, realism of the environment, but also realism of audio and proprioceptive rendering. If some high-performance car driving simulators are able to render motion satisfactorily according to all these criteria, it is not always the case. As a result, speed perception is thus often under estimated, leading into producing higher speeds than in real conditions. Perceptual validity is then not good enough to study driver's behavior. To solve this problem, a technique has recently seen the light,…

A contribution to the inventory of parasitic microfungi on land plants in Champsaur region (French Alps, “Parc National des Ecrins”).

2023

A preliminary investigation of the flora of parasitic microfungi on land plants is reported, focused upon the mountain and the base of the subalpine ranges, in Champsaur region, (south-western French Alps, mainly within the “Parc National des Ecrins”). Sheltered by 128 host-plant species, 182 species of microfungi have been identified. Their respective distributions, among 24 investigated localities (including four located within the Central Zone of the “Parc National des Ecrins”), are specified. Moreover, seven of these 182 microfungi do not match satisfactorily any of the consulted diagnosis in the specialized literature. Accordingly, a detailed description of the main distinctive traits …

Projet d’Action Scientifique.
