Finland is now witnessing a nationwide curriculum reform, which highly demands the understanding towards organizational sensemaking in such dynamic context. Merging Features from Green's Functions and Time Dependent Density Functional Theory: A Route to the Description of Correlated Materials out of Equil…

We propose a description of nonequilibrium systems via a simple protocol that combines exchange-correlation potentials from density functional theory with self-energies of many-body perturbation theory. The approach, aimed to avoid double counting of interactions, is tested against exact results in Hubbard-type systems, with respect to interaction strength, perturbation speed and inhomogeneity, and system dimensionality and size. In many regimes, we find significant improvement over adiabatic time dependent density functional theory or second Born nonequilibrium Green's function approximations. We briefly discuss the reasons for the residual discrepancies, and directions for future work.

Abstract Three new mixed ligand complexes of palladium(II) dithiocarbamates; [Pd(4-dpmpzdtc)(PPh3)(SCN)] (1), [Pd(4-dpmpzdtc)(PPh3)Cl] (2) and [Pd(bzbudtc)(PPh3)Cl] (3), (where, 4-dpmpzdtc = 4-(diphenylmethyl)piperazinecarbodithioato anion, bzbudtc = N-benzyl-N-butyldithiocarbamato anion and PPh3 = triphenylphosphine) have been synthesized from their respective parent dithiocarbamates by ligand exchange reactions and characterized by IR and NMR (1H, 13C and 31P) spectroscopy. International audience; At Pantelleria, peralkaline silicic magmas were erupted across a range of eruptive typologies and magnitudes: pyroclastic flows, Plinian to strombolian pumice fallout and lava flows. In this paper we focus on the intermediate cycle of eruptive activity which is bracketed by ignimbrite units slightly older than the two caldera collapses which marked the volcanological activity of the island. This age interval (180-85 ka) was punctuated by six ignimbrite-forming eruptions (silicic and variably peralkaline) for a cumulative erupted magma volume of approximately 6 km3 dense rock equivalent. Hosts of brood parasitic cuckoos often employ mobbing attacks to defend their nests and, when mobbing is costly, hosts are predicted to adjust their mobbing to match parasitism risk. While evidence exists for fine-tuned plasticity, it remains unclear why mobbing does not track larger seasonal changes in parasitism risk. Here we test a possible explanation from parental investment theory: parents should defend their current brood more intensively as the opportunity to replace it declines (re-nesting potential), and therefore “counteract” any apparent seasonal decline to match parasitism risk.
