A Complete Description and Conservation Assessment of Riella affinis Howe & Underwood (Riellaceae, Sphaerocarpales) New to Continental Europe

Riella affinis Howe & Underwood is a rare species that is thus far known from eight populations worldwide. Only half of these were recorded in the last 50 years and none were recollected since first reported. Study of a Spanish population of R. cossoniana Trab., recorded in 2002 from Las Lomas, Malaga province, revealed that it belongs to R. affinis. The correct identity of the populations, which had not been available for study, was already suggested by reproductive and ecological characteristics of the plants mentioned in the original publication. Previous research (Peiro and Gonzalez-Roma 1991) suggested that the implementation of this new model has produced a kind of disenchantment—that is, an experience of negative surprise—among health care professionals involved. Idee reformy cecyliańskiej znalazły podatny grunt w Drogosławiu, gdzie w 1911 roku wybudowano kościół filialny ku czci św. Barbary. Dzięki działalności kantora i organisty Bruno Kiefela (1877–1955) po raz pierwszy w hrabstwie kłodzkim wprowadzono tu śpiew chorałowy z udziałem wiernych. Kiefel zasłynął też jako wirtuoz organowy i kompozytor. Na potrzeby utworzonego przez siebie w 1911 roku chóru kościelnego napisał kilkadziesiąt utworów, które cieszyły się dużą popularnością w regionie. A junior homonym was detected in the genera of fossil Araneae and the following replacement name is proposed within the family Trochanteriidae: Neoveterator Ceccolini & Cianferoni nom. nov. pro Veterator Petrunkevitch, 1963 nec Laws, 1944. Eight new combinations (comb. nov.) are proposed.

In Silico Finite Element Modeling of Stress Distribution in Osteosynthesis after Pertrochanteric Fractures

A stabilization method of pertrochanteric femur fractures is a contentious issue. Here, we assess the feasibility of rapid in silico 2D finite element modeling (FEM) to predict the distribution of stresses arising during the two most often used stabilization methods: gamma nail fixation (GNF) and dynamic hip screw (DHS). The modeling was based on standard pre-surgery radiographs of hip joints of 15 patients with pertrochanteric fractures of type A1, A2, and A3 according to the AO/OTA classification. Meritse kulkeneen Suomen viennin ja tuonnin kokonaiskuva on ollut kyseisellä ajanjaksolla pitkään vaikeasti hahmotettavissa, sillä ulkomaalaisen tonniston merkitys erityisesti Kaakkois-Suomen ulkomaankaupassa on saanut aiemmin vain vähän huomiota.
