Synthesis and Characterization of Lead-Free (1-x)(K0.5Na0.5)Nb1-ySbyO3-xBaTiO3
2011
In this study lead-free ceramics with a formula (1-x)(K0.5Na0.5)Nb1-ySbyO3-xBaTiO3 have been synthesized and studied. XRD studies showed that all compositions have perovskite structure with monoclinic or tetragonal cell depending on substitution level. KNN ceramics with BaTiO3 have more homogeneous structure and increased density in comparison with pure KNN or antimony substituted KNN. Dielectric measurements revealed diffuse phase transition.
Confined crystallization of a HKUST-1 metal–organic framework within mesostructured silica with enhanced structural resistance towards water
2017
A HKUST-1 metal–organic framework was crystallized in the NH2-modified mesostructured silica FDU-12 in order to improve its structural stability upon water exposure. In-depth structural characterization studies of the designed composite confirmed successful formation of the MOF phase within the ordered spherical mesopores of the silica matrix. In spite of the confinement within the cavities, MOF exhibits full accessibility for the adsorbed gas molecules. In contrast to the bulk HKUST-1, which undergoes slow phase transition in a humid environment, the structural integrity of the HKUST-1 in the humid-protective matrix remains unchanged even after immersion and stirring in water at elevated t…
Magnetic and electronic phase transitions probed by nanomechanical resonators
2020
The reduced dimensionality of two-dimensional (2D) materials results in characteristic types of magnetically and electronically ordered phases. However, only few methods are available to study this order, in particular in ultrathin insulating antiferromagnets that couple weakly to magnetic and electronic probes. Here, we demonstrate that phase transitions in thin membranes of 2D antiferromagnetic FePS3, MnPS3 and NiPS3 can be probed mechanically via the temperature-dependent resonance frequency and quality factor. The observed relation between mechanical motion and antiferromagnetic order is shown to be mediated by the specific heat and reveals a strong dependence of the Néel temperature of…
Nonlinear analysis of phase-locked loop
2010
Abstract New method for the rigorous mathematical nonlinear analysis of PLL systems is suggested. This method allows to calculate the characteristics of phase detectors and carry out a rigorous mathematical analysis of transient process and stability of the system.

El idealismo de Hegel y la refutación de Spinoza: algunos malentendidos recientes
2016
Hegel’s Science of Logic contains a refutation ( Widerlegung ) of Spinoza’s system on whose correct understanding depends the adequate interpretation of the philosophical point of view of Hegel’s original brand of Idealism. I stress its importance, then indicate where to look for the rebuttal in the work and finally explain in what sense has a logical character (it is neither a phenomenological nor an epistemological nor a moral or practical argument). Also, some relatively recent approaches to many of the key passages are discussed in the paper, because they have fostered confusion about the way Hegel opposes Spinozism – which really is neither Kant’s nor Fichte’s way. http://dx.doi.org/10…

Photoelectrochemical characterization of amorphous anodic films on Ti-6at.%Si
2013
Abstract The solid state properties of anodic films grown galvanostatically on sputtering-deposited Ti–6at.%Si alloys were studied as a function of the formation voltage (5–40 V). From the photocurrent spectra a band gap of ∼3.4 eV was estimated for all the investigated thicknesses, which is almost coincident with the value measured for amorphous TiO 2 . The photocharacteristics allowed to estimate the flat band potential of the films, which resulted to be more anodic for thicker layers and allowed to evidence a change from n-type semiconducting material to insulator by increasing the formation voltage. A dielectric constant of ∼31 was estimated by differential capacitance measurements. The…
A photoelectrochemical characterization of passive films on stainless steels
1986
Abstract Passive films on stainless steels for sea water service have been studied by means of photocurrent measurements. Four experimental ELI (Extra Low Interstitital) ferritic stainless steels (types 25Cr-4Ni-4Mo) and a commercial superaustenitic stainless steel (type 20Cr-18Ni-6Mo-N) have been investigated. Differences in the photoelectrochemical behaviour have been attributed to the different nature of the passive films grown on ferritic or superaustenitic stainless steels. An interpretation is provided to explain the complex dependence of the photocurrent transients on the applied potential. Manuscript received 27 February 1986; in amended form 19 June 1986.
Physicochemical Characterization of Passive Films and Corrosion Layers by Differential Admittance and Photocurrent Spectroscopy
2009
Two different electrochemical techniques, differential admittance and photocurrent spectroscopy, for the characterization of electronic and solid state properties of passive films and corrosion layers are described and critically evaluated. In order to get information on the electronic properties of passive film and corrosion layers as well as the necessary information to locate the characteristic energy levels of the passive film/electrolyte junction like: flat band potential (Ufb), conduction band edge (EC) or valence band edge (EV), a wide use of Mott-Schottky plots is usually reported in corrosion science and passivity studies. It has been shown, in several papers, that the use of simpl…
