Kielellisiä taitoja ja koulunkäyntivalmiuksia : valmistavan opetuksen ja oman äidinkielen opetuksen tila ja vaikuttavuus -arviointi
2022
Tässä raportissa tarkastellaan Kansallisen koulutuksen arviointikeskuksen (Karvin) toteuttaman kansallisen arvioinnin tuloksia perusopetukseen valmistavan opetuksen ja oppilaan oman äidinkielen opetuksen tilasta ja vaikuttavuudesta. Arviointi kohdistuu erityisesti opetuksen tavoitteiden toteutumiseen ja opetuksen järjestämistapoihin. Lisäksi selvitetään opetusta ja oppimista edistäviä ja estäviä tekijöitä. Arviointi tuottaa tietoa hallituksen Oikeus oppia -kehittämisohjelmaan. Ohjelman tavoitteena on laatia toimenpiteitä, joilla turvataan maahanmuuttotaustaisten lasten ja nuorten oppimisedellytykset ja koulutussiirtymät etenkin koulutuksen nivelvaiheissa. Arviointiin osallistui 73 opetuksen…
Comparing the morphology of urban patterns in Europe
2004
The sprawling urban patterns typical for the outskirts of many europen metropolitan areas seem to be amorphous and it is difficult to find references for describing them. However, for managing sprawl it seems important to have quantitative descriptors, which allow distinguishing different types of urban patterns and which are less ambiguous than traditional density measures. a better knowledge of these patterns should also point to the underlying context of urbanisation at their root. More concretely: to what extent are planned patterns different from less planned ones? Do planned or unplanned patterns show comparable morphological features?
Od przyjaźni nakazanej do współpracy partnerskiej: kontakty Wrocławia i Drezna w ramach współpracy miast na przestrzeni siedemdziesięciu lat
2017
The article shows the evolution of the contacts between Wrocław and Dresden within the framework of city partnership agreements against the background of the general state of Polish-German relations. It also mentions activities taken as part of the second Wrocław-Wiesbaden partnership. Since the 1950s, there have been formal and extremely limited contacts between the authorities and political organozations of Dresden and Wrocław. With the passage of time and, above all, after the political changes in Poland and Germany and the signing of the Polish-German border treaty of 1990 and the Good Neighbourhood and Friendly Cooperation Agreement of 1991, these contacts have become more universal, t…
La domus Augusta in Sicilia: dame imperiali nel paesaggio urbano della prima provincia
2018
The paper deals with the sculptural images of the Iulio-Claudian princesses that were found in SIcily,. Beside iconography, the statuary types, associations and contexts of the portraits are treated, in order to understand the meanings and the role of the honors payed to the domus Augusta by the cities of Roman Sicily in shaping the new cultural landscape of the province after Augustus.

The Sicilian system of Protected Areas – Integrated planning and management policies for protected areas
2018
Currently the Sicilian system of protected areas appears to be extremely advanced with its 12% of territory protected by regional regulations versus the nationwide average of 11%, but it is also the most contradictory one. Even today a large number of protected areas- also small ones - are subject to strong anthropogenic pressure, which favor fragmentation. In this paper we will analyze what kinds of anthropogenic pressure exist in Sicily and what could be a new perspective for protected areas
Centrality Dependence of the Charged-Particle Multiplicity Density at Midrapidity in Pb-Pb Collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV
2016
The pseudorapidity density of charged particles, dNch=dη, at midrapidity in Pb-Pb collisions has been measured at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of √sNN=5.02 TeV. For the 5% most central collisions, we measure a value of 1943±54. The rise in dNch=dη as a function of √sNN is steeper than that observed in proton-proton collisions and follows the trend established by measurements at lower energy. The increase of dNch=dη as a function of the average number of participant nucleons, hNparti, calculated in a Glauber model, is compared with the previous measurement at √sNN=2.76 TeV. A constant factor of about 1.2 describes the increase in dNch=dη from √sNN=2,76 to 5.02 TeV for all central…
Resilienza e adattamento: definizioni, modelli e sfide progettuali
2015
Farming on the margins : Just transition and the resilience of peripheral farms
2022
Sustainability transition demands fundamental changes taking place at the farm system level. At the same time, many farms are operating on the verge of financial profitability, especially in geographically disadvantaged peripheral regions with a limited range of production opportunities. These observations raise concerns about the transition's justice aspects. Using the concept of resilience, we analysed farmers’ capacities for transformation in a peripheral context in Finland. The results from our farmer survey (n = 577) indicated that the regime exerts a strong cost-price squeeze on farmers, escaping of which is difficult also for farmers deliberately seeking new pathways beyond it.
