Narrative inquiry and historical skills. A study in teacher training

This paper addresses narrative thinking and literacy levels in future primary school teachers in Spain. It uses the study of a historical synthesis of one of the main narratives in Spanish history: the Christian expansion through Muslim territories in the Iberian Peninsula in the Middle Ages. Accounts by 283 students of the degree in elementary school teaching at the universities of Valencia and Murcia were studied. The aim was to ascertain the students' discursive abilities with respect to their historical thinking skills. The results reveal poor narrative skills in future teachers and a very low level of historical literacy.

W niniejszym artykule dokonana została analiza oraz próba systematyzacji współczesnej hiszpańskiej polityki pamięci. Osią aktualnych debat o przeszłości są w Hiszpanii dwa wydarzenia: hiszpańska wojna domowa (1936-1939) i dyktatura frankistowska (1936-1975). Punktem wyjścia rozważań jest teza o rozproszonym charakterze inicjatyw dążących do zdominowania polityki pamięci. Pamięć narodowa to jedynie użyteczna politycznie metafora, tymczasem w warunkach demokracji liberalnej należy raczej mówić w liczbie mnogiej: o pamięciach historycznych i politykach historycznych. Darba autore pētīja privāta testamenta formu, problēmjautājumus un attīstības tendences, konstatējot nepilnības privāta testamenta normatīvajā regulējumā un piedāvājot tām risinājumus. Darbā ir trīs nodaļas. Pirmā nodaļa ir veltīta testamenta jēdzienam. Autore pētīja testamenta jēdziena vēsturisko attīstību, pievēršot uzmanību testamenta pamatpazīmēm. Tika analizēta testēšanas brīvība kā personas tiesība un tās ierobežojumi, kā arī jēdziena "brīva griba" izpratne. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir izpētīt privātā testamenta formu un analizēt privātā testamenta attīstības tendences. Tika analizētas vēsturiskās Latvijas Republikas Civillikuma redakcijas, kā arī spēkā esošā Latvijas Republikas Civillikuma redakcija. Autore izmantoja literatūru latviešu un angļu valodā, izpētija Latvijas tiesu praksi, nacionālo un ārvalstu literatūru, konsultējās ar zvērinātu notāri, lai pilnvērtīgi izpildītu darbā izvirzīto mērķi.Darba izstrādes laikā tika sniegti vērtējumi par testamenta attīstības tendencēm, tika konstatētas nepilnības, sniegti ieteikumi un piedāvāti risinājumi konstatētajām nepilnībām, ar kuru palīdzību būtu iespējams panākt uzlabojumus.

The Spanish republican project that came into power in 1931 relied on a strong support of the cultural world. Written media were used to spread its reforms that it supported. In political and literary circles, numerous publications were released by established writers as well as by the witness of this period. The publication of newspapers went on during the Civil War. Even the boats that transfered the refugees to Mexico, had three publications that proclaimed the necessity of staying united after the arrival. This intention was implicit in the school newspapers of the four Spanish schools in the Mexican capital and helped to keep track of Spain’s presence as a common referent.

This study evaluates the bone-healing patterns on the surface of titanium implants at the cortical and marrow compartments of bicortically-installed implants in the diaphysis and metaphysis of rabbit tibiae. In 27 New Zealand rabbits, two implants, one for each macro-design and with equal resorbable blasted media (RBM) implant surfaces, were randomly implanted in the diaphysis or metaphysis of each tibia. The flaps were sutured to allow submerged healing. The animals were sacrificed after two, four, or eight weeks, with nine weeks used for the period of healing.
