Incomparable Banach spaces and operator semigroups

Using the notions of total incomparability and total coincomparability of Banach spaces, we define two families of operator semigroups. We show that these semigroups are minimal, in the sense that they admit a perturbative characterization. Moreover, they allow us to characterize the corresponding incomparability classes.

Assigning teachers to classrooms: The case of French primary schools - This paper reports a study which focused on teachers'assignment in French elementary school whose headmasters have no decision-making powers. Using both in-depth interviews with 18 headmasters and data about teachers and classrooms within their schools, the analysis shows that the potential for problems is significant as far as teachers are sorted into classrooms based on their preference first. This article focuses on the life courses of young people of migrant origin who are active in civic and political fields in Finland. The aim is to analyse, from the micro-level life course perspective, the issues in their lives that have helped them to become active. The article draws on empirical data collected using participatory methods. Four young people of migrant origin participated in the research process and contributed to the data analysis. The theoretical framework consists of Bourdieusian concepts of political habitus and emotional, cultural and social capital. This article looks at the Swedish Finn Youth Organization’s transnational political activities, and how they have developed. In the beginning, the youth organization modelled itself after its mother organization and joined the Finnish Expatriate Parliament (FEP), which made its participation in transnational practices easy. The case study of the Swedish Finn Youth Organization in Stockholm, Sweden, demonstrates that if the younger generation is given an opportunity to establish and govern their own associations, new forms of organization can be expected. Abstract This article presents the design of a new distributed and multi-platform system for water quality monitoring, enhanced with powerful Internet capabilities. The measured variables are temperature, turbidity, pH, dissolved oxygen, and electrical conductivity. The signal-conditioning block has been simplified through the use of software routines for thermal compensation, hence, reducing the cost and dimensions. [EN] The aim of this paper is to show how the number of conjugacy classes appearing in the product of classes affect the structure of a finite group. The aim of this paper was to show several results about solvability concerning the case in which the power of a conjugacy class is a union of one or two conjugacy classes.
