Several phthalate acid esters (PAEs), often called phthalate esters or phthalates, are substances classified as harmful due to their carcinogenic and mutagenic properties, and moreover, as dangerous for humans because they interfere with the endocrine system. Potential combined effects of maternal smoking and coffee intake on foetal death within the Danish National Birth Cohort

Background: Several studies have linked coffee intake and smoking to foetal death, but a possible interaction between both exposures remains unknown.Methods: We studied, within the Danish National Birth Cohort, the potential interaction between smoking and coffee drinking while pregnant on the risk of foetal (early and late) death. The study included 90 086 pregnant women, with information about their smoking habit and coffee intake in early pregnancy, and several potential confounding factors. Novel green bio-composite geopolymeric thermo-plasters for innovative building applications: upcycling spent coffee ground

This study proposes the reuse of spent coffee ground and biomass fly ash in the development of green geopolymeric thermo-plastering for innovative building applications. The former waste is the major residue of the brewing process, that is usually used as fertilisers or disposed of in landfill with extreme harmfulness for the natural environment. The latter is an industrial waste generated during the Kraft paper-pulp process, that is usually landfilled.
