Coupled fixed point theorems for multi-valued nonlinear contraction mappings in partially ordered metric spaces

2011

Abstract In this paper, we establish two coupled fixed point theorems for multi-valued nonlinear contraction mappings in partially ordered metric spaces. The theorems presented extend some results due to Ciric (2009) [3] . An example is given to illustrate the usability of our results.

Planar Mappings of Finite Distortion

2010

We review recent results on planar mappings of finite distortion. This class of mappings contains all analytic functions and quasiconformal mappings.

Existence Results for Periodic Boundary Value Problems with a Convenction Term

2020

By using an abstract coincidence point theorem for sequentially weakly continuous maps the existence of at least one positive solution is obtained for a periodic second order boundary value problem with a reaction term involving the derivative \(u'\) of the solution u: the so called convention term. As a consequence of the main result also the existence of at least one positive solution is obtained for a parameter-depending problem.

Common Fixed Point of Generalized Contractive Type Mappings in Cone Metric Spaces

2011

We obtain common fixed points and points of coincidence of a pair of mappings satisfying a generalized contractive type condition in cone metric spaces. Our results generalize some well-known recent results in the literature.

Wardowski conditions to the coincidence problem

2015

In this article we first discuss the existence and uniqueness of a solution for the coincidence problem: Find p ∈ X such that Tp = Sp, where X is a nonempty set, Y is a complete metric space, and T, S:X → Y are two mappings satisfying a Wardowski type condition of contractivity. Later on, we will state the convergence of the Picard-Juncgk iteration process to the above coincidence problem as well as a rate of convergence for this iteration scheme. Finally, we shall apply our results to study the existence and uniqueness of a solution as well as the convergence of the Picard-Juncgk iteration process toward the solution of a second order differential equation. Fixed point theorems for twisted (α,β)-ψ-contractive type mappings and applications

2013

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the existence and uniqueness of fixed points for new classes of mappings defined on a complete metric space. The obtained results generalize some recent theorems in the literature. Several applications and interesting consequences of our theorems are also given.

Coupled fixed point results in cone metric spaces for -compatible mappings

2011

In this paper, we introduce the concepts of -compatible mappings, b-coupled coincidence point and b-common coupled fixed point for mappings F, G : X × X → X, where (X, d) is a cone metric space. We establish b-coupled coincidence and b-common coupled fixed point theorems in such spaces. The presented theorems generalize and extend several well-known comparable results in the literature, in particular the recent results of Abbas et al. [Appl. Math. Comput. 217, 195-202 (2010)]. Some examples are given to illustrate our obtained results. An application to the study of existence of solutions for a system of non-linear integral equations is also considered. 2010 Mathematics Subject Classificati…

Fixed point results in cone metric spaces

2010

We prove a result on points of coincidence and common fixed points for three self mappings satisfying a weak generalized contractive type condition in cone metric spaces. We deduce some results on common fixed points for two self mappings satisfying a weak contractive type condition in cone metric spaces. This results generalize some well-known recent results.

On fixed points of Berinde’s contractive mappings in cone metric spaces

2010

In this paper we establish some common fixed point theorems for two self-mappings satisfying a generalized contractive condition. This result generalizes well known comparable results in the literature. As an application, a necessary and sufficient condition for a fixed point to be a periodic point for the mapping involved therein, without appealing to continuity, in a cone metric space is established.
