On the tensor degree of finite groups

We study the number of elements $x$ and $y$ of a finite group $G$ such that $x \otimes y= 1_{_{G \otimes G}}$ in the nonabelian tensor square $G \otimes G$ of $G$. This number, divided by $|G|^2$, is called the tensor degree of $G$ and has connection with the exterior degree, introduced few years ago in [P. Niroomand and R. Rezaei, On the exterior degree of finite groups, Comm. Algebra 39 (2011), 335--343]. The analysis of upper and lower bounds of the tensor degree allows us to find interesting structural restrictions for the whole group.

Fixed point results in cone metric spaces

We prove a result on points of coincidence and common fixed points for three self mappings satisfying a weak generalized contractive type condition in cone metric spaces. We deduce some results on common fixed points for two self mappings satisfying a weak contractive type condition in cone metric spaces. This results generalize some well-known recent results.

We prove a result on points of coincidence and common fixed points in cone metric spaces for two self mappings satisfying a weak generalized contractive condition of Zamfirescu type. We deduce some results on common fixed points for two self mappings satisfying a weak contractive type condition. These results generalize some well-known recent results.

Euroregions as political actors: managing border policies in the time of Covid-19 in Polish borderlands

The article examines the role of the Euroregions in the first Covid-19 pandemic wave in Europe. The beginning of the pandemic in the spring of 2020 led to the closures of state borders. This complicated the situation of Polish cross-border commuters working in Germany and the Czech Republic. The border closure also showed the strength of Euroregions, able to react and transmit the demands of borderlanders to the Polish government. To analyse this question, we adapt the deliberative system theory. The actions taken by Euroregions, as institutions of public space, were considered as deliberative consequences of non-deliberative actions of government.

Modelling of rotations by using matrix solutions of nonlinear wave equations

A family of matrix solutions of nonlinear wave equations is extended and its application to modelling is given. It is shown that a similarity transformation, induced by the matrix solution, is equivalent to the rotation. Matrix solutions are used for modelling helical motions and vortex rings, simultaneous rotations and particles collision, mapping contraction and pulsating spheres. The main issue addressed in this study is interaction of development policy of agricultural and rural areas with the regional and cohesion policies. This paper is based on an empirical study of everyday commuting models and spatial practices of different social groups of rural people in Latvia.
