Abstract Complex-formation abilities of a series of N-methyl alkylaminomethane-1,1-diphosphonic acids (1–7) with a common tertiary nitrogen atom (CH3−N−R) bearing linear or branched alkyl, cycloheptyl or phenylalkyl R substituents towards zinc(II), magnesium(II) and calcium(II) in aqueous solution have been studied by means of pH-potentiometry, ESI-MS spectrometry, 1H NMR and 31P NMR methods. Copper(II) and platinum(II) complexes of 2-benzoylpyrrole (2-BZPH) were synthesized and characterized with IR, 1 H and 1 3 C NMR spectroscopies and coordination geometry with ligands arranged in transoid fashion. The crystal structure of [Cu I I (2-BZP) 2 ] was determined by X-ray diffraction. Death of complex treated Jurkat cells was measured by flow cytometry. The bis-chelate complexes [Cu I I (2-BZP) 2 ] and [Pt I I (2-BZP) 2 ] adopt square-planar coordination geometry with ligands, arranged in transoid fashion. AbstractTwenty-two n-butyltin(IV) and t-butyltin(IV) complexes of ligands containing an –OH (–C@O) group or –OH and –COOHgroups and an aromatic {N} donor atom were prepared by metathetical reactions. On the basis of the FT-IR and Mo¨ssbauer spec-troscopic data, molecular structures were assigned to these compounds. The binding sites of the ligands were identified by means ofFT-IR spectroscopic measurements, and it was found that in most cases the organotin(IV) moiety reacts with the phenolic form ofthese ligands. Three soil DNA extraction procedures (homemade protocols and commercial kit) varying in their practicability were applied to contrasting soils to evaluate their efficiency in recovering: (i) soil DNA and (ii) bacterial diversity estimated by 16S rDNA pyrosequencing. Significant differences in DNA yield were systematically observed between tested procedures. For certain soils, 10 times more DNA was recovered with one protocol than with the others. About 15,000 sequences of 16S rDNA were obtained for each sample which were clustered to draw rarefaction curves. The effects of Cu amendment on indigenous soil microorganisms were investigated in two soils, a calcareous silty clay (Ep) and a sandy soil (Au), by means of a 1-year field experiment and a two-month microcosm incubation. Cu was added as 'Bordeaux mixture' [CuSO(4), Ca(OH)(2)] at the standard rate used in viticulture (B1=16 kg Cu kg(-1) soil) and at a higher level of contamination (B3=48 kg Cu ha(-1) soil). In this work we propose the use of Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) Recurrent Neural Networks for multivariate time series of satellite data for crop yield estimation. Recurrent nets allow exploiting the temporal dimension efficiently, but interpretability is hampered by the typically overparameterized models.
