Two View Line-Based Motion and Structure Estimation for Planar Scenes

We present an algorithm for reconstruction of piece-wise planar scenes from only two views and based on minimum line correspondences. We first recover camera rotation by matching vanishing points based on the methods already exist in the literature and then recover the camera translation by searching among a family of hypothesized planes passing through one line. Unlike algorithms based on line segments, the presented algorithm does not require an overlap between two line segments or more that one line correspon- dence across more than two views to recover the translation and achieves the goal by exploiting photometric constraints of the surface around the line. Medial surfaces are well-known and interesting surface skeletons. As such, they can describe the topology and the geometry of a 3D closed object. The link between an object and its medial surface is also intuitively understood by people. We want to exploit such skeletons to use them in applications like shape creation and shape deformation. Morphological Analysis of Binary Scene in APR Integrated Environment

This paper describes principles of binary scene [1] morphological analysis in script based application - APR (Analysis, Processing and Recognition). The aim of the method is to find object on the scene and then to describe theirs basic features like edges, neighbors and surface [2]. The algorithm construction gives benefits in terms speed as well as to computation costs, at the same time being capable of presenting number of attributes values for scene and each of the objects. Registration of moving surfaces by means of one-shot laser projection

The acquisition of three-dimensional models of a given surface is a very interesting subject in computer vision. Most of techniques are based on the use of laser range finders coupled to a mechanical system that scans the surface. These techniques lacks of accuracy in the presence of vibrations or non-controlled surface motion because of the misalignments between the acquired images. In this paper, we propose a new one-shot pattern which benefits from the use of registration techniques to recover a whole surface in the presence of non-controlled motion.

We present a new multiresolution analysis framework based on the lifting scheme for irregular meshes with attributes. We introduce a surface prediction opera- tor to compute the detail coefficients for the geometry and the attributes of the model. Attribute analysis gives appearance information to complete the geomet- rical analysis of the model.We present an application to adaptive visualization and some experimental results to show the efficiency of our framework.

Determination of the object surface function by structured light: application to the study of spinal deformities.

The projection of structured light is a technique frequently used to determine the surface shape of an object. In this paper, a new procedure is described that efficiently resolves the correspondence between the knots of the projected grid and those obtained on the object when the projection is made. The method is based on the use of three images of the projected grid. In two of them the grid is projected over a flat surface placed, respectively, before and behind the object; both images are used for calibration. Objectives: We compare expert opinion with perceptual judgment regarding the influence of color on the perceived height and width of interior rooms. Background: We hypothesize that contrary to popular belief, ceiling and wall lightness have additive effects on perceived height, whereas the lightness contrast between these surfaces is less important. We assessed the intuitions of architectural experts as to which surface colors maximize apparent height and compared these intuitions with psychophysical height and width estimates for rooms differing in ceiling, floor, and wall lightness. In this paper, we present a novel approach exploiting fluorescence imaging to estimate the shape of transparent objects. Classical inspection systems require users to coat transparent objects with some powder before measurement. Methods suggested in literature through non contact measurement do not effectively deal with the refraction problem, thus, providing inaccuracies.
