Exposure of a THF solution of tantalocene dichloride complexes (η 5 -Cp*)TaCl 2 (η 5 -C 5 H 4 -SiMe 3 ) (1) and (η 5 -Cp*)TaCl 2 (η 5 -C 5 H 5 ) (2) to the ambient atmosphere for 12 h leads to the formation of new tantalum(V) cationic hydroxo complexes [(η 5 -Cp*)TaCl(OH)(η 5 -C 5 H 4 SiMe 3 )] + -Cl- (3) and [(η 5 -Cp*)TaCl(OH)(η 5 -C 5 H 5 )]+Cl - (4). This oxidation reaction is more rapid under oxygen atmosphere since the hydroxo complexes are obtained in better yields within only 15 min. The HOWERD model for estimating the most likely alignment between an OWL ontology and an Entity Relation Diagram (ERD) is presented. Automatic alignment between relational schema and ontology represents a big challenge in Semantic Web research due to the different expressiveness of these representations. A relational schema is less expressive than the ontology; this is a non trivial problem when accessing data via an ontology and for ontology storing by means of a relational schema. Scratch detection and removal from static images using simple statistics and genetic algorithms

This paper investigates the removal of line scratches from old movies and gives a twofold contribution. First, it presents simple technique for detecting the scratches, based on an analysis of the statistics of the grey levels. Second, the scratch removal is approached as an optimisation problem, and it is solved by using a genetic algorithm. The method can be classified as a static approach, as it works independently on each single frame of the sequence.
